The chair's restraints tightened slightly rather than releasing her. The display flashed yellow: "Comprehensive Bio-assessment requested." She yelped as the chair began to move on its own.

"That's... unexpected," he said, his expression carefully blank as he stepped back. "I believe you've triggered a full examination."

She struggled against the restraints fruitlessly. "Turn it off!"

The medical bay lights dimmed slightly, then brightened to a clinical intensity. "Patient privacy mode activating," announced the system. "All non-essential personnel must vacate the medical bay."

He glanced at the door as it slid open automatically. "I should go. These systems are designed to forcibly eject unauthorized observers during intimate procedures." His professional demeanor never wavered, but she thought she saw just a hint of a corner of his mouth turning up. "You took full administrator control of the ship. I couldn't override these medical protocols even if I wanted to."

"Wait, how do I turn it off, then?"
