Time with Tina.

"So, Red! Did Tina ever wake up?".

"Yes Peanut! She eventually woke up thirty minutes after we arrived. She was a bit disoriented, but once she realized I was there and it wasn't a dream, she got a huge smile on her face. She was happy that she had gotten her wish.".

"Was she able to talk to you Daffodil?".

"Yes!! She was able to talk!! The very first thing she said was to thank me for coming to visit her. I told her it wasn't a problem. Of course she asked me if she could see some of my plant abilities in action. Luckily enough she a couple of flowers in a pot on the table next to her bed. So I pointed at the flowers to make her look at them. When she did I made them give her a bow, and then wave at her. I then made the flowers dance for her. Seeing the flowers do that made her giggle."

"In a way it was kind of funny being around Tina like I was!!".

"What do you mean Red?".

"We quickly fell into some kind of natural rhythm when we talked, or watched some of her favorite programs on TV. To me it felt like two sisters reconnecting after being away from each other for a long time. Every time we were together it felt like we talked and laughed for hours. She told me a bit about her life before she was diagnosed with her cancer, what she would do if it went into remission or if it was cured. She asked me questions about my life before I became Poison Ivy. What it was like having my abilities. She also wanted to know what it was like fighting against Batman. Which caused Batman to scowl at her. She just shot a shit eating grin back at him. She also asked me if I ever fought against any of the members of the Justice League. I answered all her questions as truthfully as I could!".

"Harls, I felt naturally drawn to her! So much so that I was at the hospital as soon as visiting hours began, and I was usually being chased out of there once visiting hours were over. The only downside to those visits was the fact I always had a chaperone. But, I didn't let ruin the time I got to spend with her. I truly enjoyed every minute I got to spend with her. I actually got up every morning and was truly excited to go see her!!".

"I have a feeling something bad happened to her didn't it Red?".

"Unfortunately, Harley! Something bad did happen to her! It was my fourth day visiting her. Batman brought me to the hospital for my visit. We were watching one of Tina's favorite scary movies. One of those scary movies that had a lot of jump scares in it. I don't remember when it happened, but sometime during the movie I ended up holding Tina's hand. Once I realized it, I looked over at Tina and saw her smiling at me. Which naturally caused me to smile back at her.".

"I was still holding her hand when the movie ended. We talked about the movie and other things for what felt like a very long time, even though it probably wasn't that long. I could tell she wanted to ask me a question, but she looked like she didn't know how phrase the question. So, I asked her what was on her mind? That's when she asked me a question that even now I still don't have an answer for!!".

"Pammy! What was the question she asked you that you didn't have an answer for?".

"She asked me why I haven't ever tried to use my abilities to do something good? Like use my knowledge of plants to help find cures for diseases and sickness, or even cures for cancer? But, before I could answer her, I looked at her and saw her eyes slowly began to close. I thought she was falling asleep. It wasn't much longer her breathing slowed down, like when you go into deep sleep. It was at that moment the only noise in the room was the heart monitor steadily beeping away."

"While I was sitting there still holding her hand, I noticed the sounds of the beeps had gradually started slowing down and the beeping stopped completely! The next noise I heard was the sound of the monitor telling us she was flat lining.A few seconds later Tina's hand slipped out of my grasp. I sat there stunned not really sure of what just happened."

"Before the gravity of what just happened could sink in, I was quickly being pushed out of the way by the nurses and doctors that came rushing in to revive Tina. But, it was already too late, Tina was gone. Peanut! I've seen people die before. Especially, people dying by my own hands, or by things I have done. But, I never witnessed a child who was just minutes ago was just so full of life talking and laughing slip away like that!! I felt so utterly powerless that I couldn't do anything to stop that from happening!!".

"While the doctors tried to revive Tina. I stood off to the side with tears constantly streaming down my face crying. I'm not the only one crying as I can others in the room sobbing. I try to wipe the ever falling tears from my eyes to look towards the ever stoic Batman, and I can see he has his head down mourning the loss in his own way. I walked over towards him when I'm stopped by Tina's parents. Her father stopped me to thank me for coming and spending time with her and for making her wish come true."

"I tell him it was my pleasure to spend time with her and how I'm going to miss spending that time with her, and that I'm truly sorry for their loss! As I tried to walk away, I was pulled into a surprise hug from her parents. After the hug and more tears being shed, I walked over to Batman and I ask him if we could leave so the parents could mourn in peace. He quickly agrees, and we leave the hospital moments later."

"Once again, before I knew it we were back in the Batmobile heading back towards my home. It was during this ride home that I came to a major decision!!".

I hear Harley sniffling and I look over at her in time to see her wipe the tears from her eyes and hear her blowing her nose.

"W-Wh-What was your(sniffling) major decision Red?".
