Jan. Week 2: Monday

Leah carried a cup of coffee in one hand and her laptop in the other, already dreading another week of school.

Students were still trickling into the school chatting and laughing, but Leah barely registered their presence as she relaxed in her classroom getting herself prepared for the day ahead.

It was a quiet morning with students getting back into the routine of class.

Leah couldn't help but roll her eyes as she saw SRO Roberts strolling down the hallway toward her, a mischievous grin on his face. He was always finding ways to tease and embarrass her, much to her annoyance.

"Good morning, Miss Leah," he greeted with a mock salute.

"Good morning, Officer Robert.," she replied, trying to keep the irritation out of her voice.

"Have you been keeping these kids in line?" he asked, gesturing to the students who were now settling into their seats.

"I do my best," Leah answered with a **** smile.

“Been a while. Have a good Christmas break?” He grinned his wolfish grin.

“It was fine.” Leah said curtly.

“How is your fiancé?” He said maliciously.

“He is fine too.” she shot him daggers.

Roberts chuckled before getting serious. There was still a good amount of students running around the halls as Roberts changed his tone.

"Actually, I came by to remind you about our routine...lockdown drills."

Leah raised an eyebrow, she knew that wasn’t exactly right. He was clearly trying to insinuate something.

“Can’t be too safe now can we?” she said dryly.

“I think you should stop by my office when you have some time during your planning. I’d love to talk to you about…lockdown procedures"

Leah rolled her eyes. As SRO Roberts began to walk away. That man disgusted her. But still, she knew she had to balance keeping his silence and being caught up in…well being caught (she was living so many lies). {endif}
