The Caretaker

The woman, accompanied by Naomi in tow engulfed in her uncomfortable cage, made her way back to her designated seating area on the flight. She settled down, allowing a brief moment of peace to envelop her until suddenly, a steady "ding" interrupted the tranquility. A heavy sigh escaped her lips, as she had hoped for a moment to engage with her beloved Naomi.

Just as she was about to express her disappointment to Naomi, a breathless man hurriedly approached her with an apologetic tone. "Miss, I'm sorry to inform you that it appears you have someone else's cherished pet in your possession," he managed to articulate amidst his panting.

The woman's gaze shifted back and forth between Naomi, the adorable pet, and the concerned caretaker standing before her. A sense of realization dawned upon her, and she let out a soft sigh of regret. "My sincerest apologies, I must have mistaken her for a stress-relief toy, not realizing she belonged to another. Oh, if only I knew earlier, I would have spared no expense to have her as my own treasured pet,I would send thousands!

" she confessed, her voice tinged with a hint of longing.

Upon hearing the woman's remorseful admission, the pet caretaker appeared contemplative, lost in a deep moment of thought. "Thousands?," he echoed softly, as he mulled over the unexpected turn of events and the revelation of the woman's genuine interest in Naomi.
