Chapter 212 by grimbous grimbous

Dream Come True

The darkness parts to reveal an angel hovering over me.

Gently stroking my hair the angel says softly. “You fainted. You okay, baby?”

“Yes.” I whisper.

“Oh good.”

“No.” I smile a dreamy smile. “I m-mean…yes.”

“Yes?”

“Yes!”

Winona’s smile lights up my whole life. Cupping my cheek she leans in for a long, tender kiss. As she rises I realize that she had caught me on my way down and laid me down on the sofa. Kneeling at my side Winona runs her hands down my left arm, finds my hand, then slips the precious ring onto my finger. When it glides easily to base of my finger, a perfect fit, I am not even surprised. I could see now with crystal clarity that this was all meant to be. For all of the twists and turns and ups and down from the instant she came upon me at the garage we had set out on a path that was only ever going to lead to this moment now.

The ring secured on my finger Winona squeezes my hand then returns to petting my hair. I lay and stare at the glittering diamond adorning my hand.

“It w-was hers.”

“And now it’s yours, baby.” Winona says. “Grandpa said that he’d never seen a love so strong as ours. He said your grandma would have wanted you to have it.”

I cry. I just, cry. I am so happy and so deeply touched at what Grandpa had done for us that I couldn’t do anything else but cry. I’d heard of the moment bringing doubts and jitters but not for me. In the lyrics of Winona and I’s first slow dance…it feels so right. Winona, misty eyed herself, pulls me into a big, encircling hug.

“I love you!”

“I l-love youuu!”

Winona helps me to sit up then glides up to sit beside me. With her arm around me she holds my hand right hand as I continue to marvel over the left.

“It’s s-so beautiful.”

“Not as beautiful as you.”

“Ohhh, Winona.” I sigh and melt into her. Looking into her eyes I say. “I wanted to ask you first b-but…I was worried you’d think it was too soon.”

“I damn near asked you with that promise ring.” She says with a soft laugh. “I thought you’d think me crazy.”

“Winona, I already kn-know you’re crazy.”

We laugh, we kiss, we sigh, then we kiss again. Holding to each other we share this moment, for the first time, as fiances. Our fates were forever intertwined. In truth though, that had happened a long time ago.

Looking down at the ring I whisper. “I need to th-thank him.”

“Go ahead.”

“Grandpa!” I call as I stand.

I hear the creaky door to his bedroom quarters open right away. He had no doubt been waiting to find out the outcome of Winona’s proposal.

“Ey? Someone call? Somethin happening?”

“Get out here you old romantic!” Winona says.

The instant Grandpa turns the corner I launch myself at him. “Woah!” He laughs as he takes me into hug. “Did I miss some good news or something?”

“You know you d-did!” I giggle-cry. Showing him the ring I say. “I said yes.”

“Kinda thought ya might.” He pinches my cheek, the biggest grin ever on his weathered face. “Woulda been awkward had you not.”

“Oh, Grandpa. Ohhhh, Grandpa.” I look into his twinkling blue eyes. “I d-don’t even have the words.”

“Aw, Buttercup.” He says. “You don’t need to say a thing. I hope that ring brings you both as much joy as it did Anna and I.”

“Thank you!” I bury my face in his shoulder and hug him with all I had. “Thank you!” As he hugs me back I look up at Grandma’s photo and whisper. “Thank y-you!”

He kisses one cheek as he pats the other. “Congratulations.” Breaking our hug he marches straight over to give another.

“Oh!” Winona hoots as she’s wrapped up in a Grandpa embrace.

“Congratulations, Winona. Welcome to the family.”

“Thank you, Mike.” She says, hugging him back. “For everything.”

The turn to me and wave me in and soon it was a hug for three.

“You’re g-gonna sing at the wedding.”

“Am I?” Grandpa chortles as he steps back from the embrace, leaving the happy couple together.

“And you’re g-gonna be my b-best man! Or…g-giving me away.” I say. “W-We’ll figure it out.”

“Heh! You just tell me where ya need me.” He looks at the the pair of us, beaming with joy. “We should get a picture of this moment.”

“Yes! I b-brought my good camera!” I say. “Hold on.”

In flash I dash from the room and grab my camera. The portrait lens was already attached so I didn’t even need to slow down to change it. I hurry back and give it to Grandpa then hurry to return to Winona’s arms. Her right arm around my shoulders and both of mine around her waist we pose smiling for Grandpa to capture this magical moment.

“Erm.” He takes the lens cap off and turns it on. Staring blankly at the back of the camera a moment he mutters. “Let’s see here.”

“Grandpa!” I giggle, only now realizing that he wasn’t used to a professional grade digital camera.

“Hold on, I got it.” He says as he begins to fiddle with it. “I just gotta…GRP!” His eyes flare wide and bulge as he stares at the little screen on the back. Snapping his head away from the screen he hold the camera at arm’s length and stammers. “Uh, I-I-I think maybe you oughta set this up for me.”

“Averyyy!” Winona hisses as she, just a second before me, realizes what he’d just seen. Given his reaction he had most likely just opened the last photo taken on the camera. Which would have been…during our private shoot back on the island! Oh God! Winona’s face goes dark with in ruddy blush as I feel my own cheeks start to warm.

“Oh! OH!” I leap forward and snatch the camera from his hands. Spinning it around our worst fears are confirmed as on the screen was the very last photo taken before Winona fucked me silly, namely her towering over the viewer naked as the day she was born with her huge cock pointed right at the lens! “Oh geez!” I quickly get the wildly inappropriate picture off of the screen.

As I’m hastily getting the settings right so that Grandpa can just point and click he is assuring us. “Didn’t see a thing. All just a blur.”

Winona, meanwhile, just kinda stands there aghast. When the photo is finally snapped of our big proposal night Winona’s face is two shades darker than normal and mine a rosy pink.

When Grandpa passes back the camera a sheepish Winona cringes. “Sorry, Mike.”

“Hey.” He says with a smirk. “Anna and I went to that island too, ya know.”

All at once the tension breaks as all three of us start to laugh.

Grandpa comes and gives us each a hug and a kiss to the cheek. “Good night you two.” He says warmly. “I am so happy for you.”

“Good night, Grandpa.” We say as one.

As he shuffles off to bed, for real this time, we let out a collective sigh. “I thought I was going to die.” Winona whispers. “I think I still might!”

“He he he!” I titter. “G-Grandpa saw your wiener!”

“Shut up!” She exclaims, even as she begins to chuckle herself. “We NEVER speak of this again!”

“Yes, Ma’am. He he he!”

Looking down I study the picture just taken. It showed us looking so pretty, so happy, but with a funny tense energy surrounding us. I wondered if others seeing it in the future would see what I saw. Between the proposal, the ring, the fainting, and the embarrassment just before it was taken this captured moment would be stamped in our memories forever. This photo would always bring to mind this day and the emotions we were feeling right now. Somehow, this too, seemed just the way it ought to be.
