Greenvalley makes another bet

Of course, the women of Greenvalley didn't like having to strip down to their underwear and march right through the middle of Pinkwhistle on a bright summer morning, with all their most hated enemies laughing and teasing them about how silly and sexy they looked. In fact, they hated it!

So they decided to get their own back. Next week, acting completely on her own volition (or so she thought) Mayor Betty Swan of Greenvalley decided to make another bet with Mayor Peggy Jackson of Pinkwhistle.

This time, they wagered on a turtle race. Peggy chose a turtle from Pinkwhistle Lake, and Betty chose a turtle from Greenvalley Swamp. They put both turtles down in an empty parking lot outside Julie's Diner, exactly halfway between Greenvalley and Pinkwhistle, exactly twenty feet apart with a lettuce leaf in between them. Peggy drew a pink P on the back of her turtle, and Betty drew a green G on the back of hers.

And then they let both the turtles go, to see which one would make it to the lettuce leaf first.
