Bonnie gets five more balls

By the time she'd retrieved the ninth rubber squeezy ball, Bonnie was getting very tired of her scavenger hunt.

The fifth clown had demanded Bonnie's shirt and bra, leaving the beautiful and very self-conscious red-headed tomboy to run around the carnival stark naked. Full, bouncing, freckle-kissed breasts and curly ginger bush on display for all the boys and girls from Pinkwhistle High School to see. Everyone but Bonnie thought this was hilarious, and shouted things like "Nice ass, loser," and "Let's see those titties bounce!" as she ran past.

The sixth clown made Bonnie stand on stage in a sideshow tent and do whatever members of the audience told her to do. Suggestions included a hundred jumping jacks, dancing the macarena, pretending to be a trained dog and posing for photographs with the entire Pinkwhistle football team.

The seventh clown made her spend an hour sitting over a dunk tank full of cold sticky custard, and let guests pay a penny each for the privilege of hosing her down with icy water after each successful dunk. The eighth clown harnessed her to a carriage and made her haul paying guests with riding whips around the park. The ninth clown put a collar and leash around her neck and handed her over to Anne-Marie Patchett, sadistic queen of the cheerleading team, for two long hours of whatever wicked punishment the evil blonde could devise.

So, by the time she approached the tenth clown, Bonnie was not in a good mood. When he smiled at her and handed the white ball over, she rolled her eyes and said "Okay. What do I have to do?"

The clown kept on smiling.

"Look, I'm not taking that. It's obviously a trick."

The clown smiled some more.

"Okay, now I'm getting mad."
