The next round takes a little bit longer, as you all have trouble reading one another's intentions, and you're not quite happy about following up to the second raise. You weren't entirely wrong about all of you having mediocre hands however, and once again you just barely make it through - this time on a pair of kings.
"Well, it was worth a try Kate!" Says Rachel, with a triumphant smile on her lips, and three silly twos on her hand against her friend's pair of jacks. "So, what's your favourite colour then...?"
"Well, I do like red..." The blonde sighs, while hanging her head. This time you don't think she's putting any effort in the answer though, but is merely beat because of the loss. "And it's not fair repeating the same questions!"
"I don't remember us saying anything about that before!" Rachel grins at her, and then makes her blush grow notably deeper as she choose to return the second one as well. "What about your cuddly animals then?"
"I..." Kate stutters, and start fiddling nervously with her hair while being slow to give her answer. Once she does, she does so in a very soft little voice, and without looking either you or Rachel in the eyes. "You know how I always wanted a horse when I was a kid..."
"Yeah, I remember that." Your housemate just smiles at her, and if it wasn't for Kate's reaction you likely wouldn't have thought too much about the answer. As if to cover up for that, it seems like Rachel is trying at least to make the third one a lot more simple. It's still a repeat however, which surprises you, as you always thought she had a lot more imagination than that. "And what about favourite food then?"
"I... really loved the steak!" Kate's quicker to answer this time around, and flashes both you and Rachel a brief but thankful little smile. "I guess, in that case... I just choose to enjoy what's offered!"
"I'll keep that in mind!" Rachel grins at her, which causes her friend to blush a little again and look like she's been saying too much. And meanwhile you pretend like you don't understand what's going on at all - as if you actually do -, and start shuffling the cards again...
