Press Conference: Publicly welcomed
Once I left the meeting room I decided to check on my apartment, which should be in the same floor as everybody else's. I followed the corridor until I found a door with a little star and my name on it, but the door was locked and I hadn't been given a key yet.
It was almost time for the press conference where I'd be publicly introduced so I gave up on thinking how to get a key and got in the elevator, making my way to the ground floor where the conference room is.
I reached the bottom floor and there was a line of journalists entering the room, but I still had to go through makeup. I walked down a separate hallway that led to the back of the conference room, where some staff would start taking care of my hair and makeup.
To my surprise, A-Train showed up with my mom, Donna.
Donna: "My baby! I'm so proud of you!" My mom praised me while two staff members made sure my makeup was right.
A-Train: "I found her in the lobby and I figured I'd give her a VIP pass" He explained.
Starlight: "Oh, that's very nice of you. It wasn't necessary" I smiled for his kindness.
Donna: "Did she ever tell you you were her favorite? She's got a bunch of your posters all over her room back home" She told him about my A-Train fixation.
Starlight: "Mom!?" I was put in an awkward situation.
A-Train: "Is that so? Well I had no idea Mrs. January" He said as he looked at me.
Donna: "I might've said too much! Anyways, I'll be outside waiting for this to start" My mom headed towars the door.
A-Train: "Your favorite?" A-Train chuckled and also made his way towards the door, right after my mom.
Once the staff members made sure my makeup and hair were okay, I walked in Homelander's direction, who was by the door that led directly to the conference room.
Homelander: "Ready?" He said as he pushed the door in to the crowded room.
Starlight: "Let's do this!" I said eagerly, even though I was still trying to erase the scene I had witnessed during our first meeting just moments ago.
We both walked to the podium while cameras flashed nonstop. Once we stood a few feet behind the podium itself, Madelyn Stillwell took the stand and introduced my background as well as my powers to the media. Homelander got awkwardly close for a moment.
Homelander: "You think I haven't noticed you're not wearing panties? You're lucky your skirt is that long. Slut" He whispered and looked at me with a hint of disgust in his face before he smiled back at the dozens of cameras on us.
I did nothing but stand and smile as the leader belittled me since there was nothing I could've done. After a while, it felt like Madelyn's speech was coming to an end.
Madelyn: "...I'll finish off by saying that Starlight is actively working with our designers to come up with a new and improved superhero suit" She then stepped away from the podium so the lights could focus on both me and Homelander, receiving a brief applause.
We left the conference room after my quick introduction and that's when Madelyn herself handed me my apartment's keys and said that my belongings were already in it. I couldn't wait to head up and check on it but... why would I have to make a different suit? I looked left and right but I couldn't find my mom anywhere, perhaps she had already left by then. So I decided to take the elevator to the 99th floor and check my brand new apartment.
