Pride Of The Jaguar Queen

Pride Of The Jaguar Queen

A tale of mind control and Queens

Chapter 1 by RobinWrites RobinWrites

The jungle hummed the buzz of insects , the chattering of monkeys and the caws of tropical parrots. Each square foot of jungle felt alive and full of endless possibility.

Leona had spent much of her adult life looking in jungles, deserts and abandoned ruins. All in the search for fortune and glory. It might finally be going her way.

Three days ago a jungle guide was found catatonic babbling about a great statute and the call of the cat.

Most put it down to jungle fever, a may be outdated term to describe this man's distress.

But Leona knew better.

This could be exactly what she was looking for. This could finally be the break she needed.

Could this be the temple of the Jaguar Queen.

Many had heard the tales but only Leona knew they were real.

How did she know…

She had a feeling deep inside .

A passion.

The fire that even all the naysayers could not extinguish.

Three days into the jungle and she was on the right path, no one had properly explored this area of the jungle. The boats on the river just went right on by.

Leona knew that she needed to brave it and go ashore.

The others at the explorers guild laughed at her, scoffed at the possibility that this jungle queen could even be real. That she had been reading too many Tarzan novels.

Even if they were right Leona will have been the first person to explore this section of jungle. A very large feather in her cap indeed.

She smiled three days in the jungle and finally she found something. She could make out a large statue ahead just like the ones the guide had mentioned? Covered in jungle vines and well hidden in the undergrowth.

Or to her right a small dark cave, there was a large amount of airflow coming out of the mouth of the cave so it actually seemed to be a tunnel of some kind.

Now she found herself in the jungle faced with a decision.

Go to the Statue or enter the Cave?
