"By the way, you should be getting your first weekly stipend today," Black Canary noted to Felix, who turned to look at her.

"I'm still surprised I'm getting paid at all," he replied. "I was under the impression that the Justice League was more of a... volunteer gig."

She snorted. "For a lot of us, it is, but the League also knows that working for us invites hardship, and some people just can't manage a double life and day job while also working for us. So those who need financial assistance to work with us get it," she told him.

"Makes sense... Who pays for it all though?" he wondered.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Black Canary chuckled.

"Batman or his benefactor," Felix replied immediately, making her blink. "What? I already know the guy's rich or knows someone who is. Also, your statement makes the most sense if he's involved. I'm not stupid."

"Evidently not," Black Canary chuckled as he and Diana exited the building.

"...holy shit, a little over 1500 dollars a week!?" Felix demanded in shock as he stared at his online bank statement. Diana gave a low whistle, thinking that Bruce was definitely trying to make sure that Felix had every reason to stay loyal to the League.

"And that's after taxes, I believe," she remarked.

Felix could only lean back on the couch, still staring at his phone, already making plans for what to do with this money...
