Chapter 88

What's next?

Finding Answers is Hard, Even With a Library Card

Nick stuffed his hands into the pockets of his hoodie and kept his head down as he walked through the library. He wasn't even worried about anyone seeing him meeting up with Joey. He hadn't even had time to worry about who else might be in on this... whatever it was that was happening. No. Nick was just tired of people looking at his chest. He'd tried to find the baggiest sweatshirt he could. Unfortunately Donna Fowler had passed along her prodigious breasts not only to Juniper, but now Nick was the proud owner of a genuine pair of Fowler Titties, as he used to tease his sister over.

God. That had been so dumb.

He definitely wasn't laughing now.

At least the bra he found helped keep the weight of them from bouncing all over the place, and gave him a bit of support. Even if it was so fucking tight. However this happened, he wanted nothing more than to find a way to reverse it. It didn't matter that his dating app was full of girls messaging him. Because they weren't really interested in him. They wanted this hot nerdy lesbian chick who was into tarot and Simone De Beauvoir and the female singer-songwriters from the 90s. They didn't want Nick!

Who the fuck even was Simone De Beauvoir! Who cared?!

At least he hadn't lost his consoles. Hell, he could probably make bank as a cam girl.

Nick's soft round face flushed at the thought. He pulled the drawstrings of the hood tighter and darted into the stacks, winding his way to the agreed-upon meeting spot.

At first he didn't recognize his best friend. Joey had changed. His hair was lighter. His eyes were a completely different color. His cheekbones were more pronounced, his nose was bigger. And he was way taller. Though Nick couldn't tell how much of that had to do with Joey's new body, or his own shorter stature.

The guy looked scared. Nick didn't suspect the guy anymore. Clearly he was also a victim of whatever had gotten to Nick. It was certainly unnerving to see his oldest friend look so different, and yet so similar. How would Joey react to him. Shit. Well there was nothing for it. Nick had to dive right in. Poor Joey looked like he was going to sweat through his shirt with worry.

"Shit dude, looks like it got you too." Nick said sliding up to Joey. His friend was stammering, Nick had expected that. "Don't worry, bro. I didn't recognize myself this morning. It's me it's Nick."

"I know who you are Nicky. But I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about." Joey said.

Shit. Joey had called him Nicky.

"What do you think my name is today?" Nick said.

"What kind of question is that?" Joey said.

"Answer it!"

"Geez! It's the same name you have every day. Nicky Fowler."

"My full name, asshole."

"Nicole Elloise Fowler! Come on, what the fuck! Why are you mad at me?! What's this about?!"

Nick stared flabbergast at his oldest friend. Joey looked back confused. Confused and angry. But he wasn't nervous.

"Wait. What do _you _think I texted you about? Why did you meet me if you don't think anything is weird with me?" Nick said, putting his hands on his hips in an unconsciously feminine pose of consternation.

Joey floundered. He turned red. All the anxiety returned as Nick's best friend struggled to find the words.

"Weird stuff has been happening to me lately." Joey said, mumbling out the words.

"But you haven't notice any changes." Nick said, squinting at him, trying to read this new face that his friend wore.

"I mean what kind of changes are you talking about?" Joey said, gulping and taking a step back, nearly toppling a precariously shelved astronomy textbook.

"You didn't notice anything... different when you looked in the mirror!"

"No! What should I notice? What did you notice?"

"That you look totally different!"

"Shhh hey, Nicky this is a library, just keep it down."

"What the hell man."

"Also what do you mean I look different?"

"Your eyes! Your face! Your height!"

"Nicky seriously someone is going to hear-"

"Plus the fact that I am a FUCKING CHICK RIGHT NOW, AND NO ONE SEEMS TO NOTICE OR GIVE A SHIT!!!" Nick said, the last words even he had to admit came out as a shout. How could Joey be more concerned about keeping up library rules than the fact that his friend had turned into a woman.

"You're freaking out." Joey said.

That was the last straw.

"OF COURSE I'M FREAKING OUT. THIS BODY IS SO WEIRD AND NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE. I FEEL SO AWKWARD WITH EVERY STEP I TAKE. FOR FUCK'S SAKE JOEY, I HAVE TITS AND A GODDAMN PUSSY!!!" Nick said, this time screaming loud enough that he realized he had scared Joey.

He didn't mean to. Nick was going to apologize, but he didn't have a chance.

"Uhm actually you are totally fine with your body! You need to be cool!" Joey said, the words blurting out in a rushed hiss.

Nick was stunned.

"Look, Nicky, I'm sorry it was just..."

Sorry? Why would Joey be sorry? Was he apologizing for something he said? What were the words he had used?

"You are totally fine with your body!"

Nick put a hand to his sternum as his mouth slacked.

Just because all of Joey's changes were superficial, how could he stand there and tell Nick how to react? Hell, Joey didn't even realize anything was different. Plus he hadn't lost a cock. No wonder Joey was apologizing, the old Nick would have told him to shove it up his ass.

But he wasn't the old Nick. The bra straps digging into his shoulder, and the strands of long copper hair kept reminding him that something had changed. That something was different. Maybe that was okay. Why would Nick want to fight with his friend?

After all, Joey was just trying to help. Nick had to admit he really was making a scene. They were pretty deep into the stacks, there wasn't a trace of anyone else around, but still, this was a library. Nick was the one who had escalated things. Joey had only been trying to reassure his best friend, to protect Nick.

And from what? A pair of boobs?

Nick shook his head and felt the swish of his new ponytail. Yeah, it had been annoying to dry all that long hair, but he had to admit it looked pretty. His whole body looked pretty. Not just pretty! Gorgeous! Hot! Nick had never been hot before. So he swapped genders. He had a woman's body. But he was still himself, right? He was still healthy. He still had his best friend. He was way more popular with the ladies now. Plus, any time he wanted to look at a hot chick he could just jill one out looking at himself in a mirror.

He could even do a sexy photo shoot in this new body!

So the universe had taken his cock? That was annoying, yes, but Nick realized he was totally fine with this body. Who wouldn't be? Whatever was responsible had given him so much more than it had taken away. The multiple orgasms alone seemed well worth the price of a dick and balls.

"You need to be cool!"

Nick had been such an idiot!

He shivered and let his slender shoulders slouch a bit. Sighing at his own stupidity, and letting go of all that angst. Nick realized how pointless all that yelling had been. All that aggression and fear, over nothing.

Of course Joey had been uncomfortable. Here was his best friend, who Joey had always thought was a girl named Nicky, shouting at him in the one place on campus even toddlers knew you weren't supposed to shout in. No wonder Joey had been upset. Nick had been acting like a real dick. Like the old Nick.

He shook his head, and felt his heartrate slowing down from the thundering pace it had been pounding at all day. Nick realized that was another good thing about this change. The old Nick had been so touchy, so frightened by anything new, so quick to defend his own fragile masculinity. That's why Nick had lashed out. He felt emasculated, and rather than deal with it like a rational adult, he had been having a temper tantrum.

Maybe that's why no one had liked him. Maybe it wasn't just that he liked cartoons, or wasn't a chiseled-jaw muscle-bound hunk. Maybe he just hadn't been cool.

It was so obvious.

Being cool wasn't just about being into sports, or having the right clothes. It was an attitude. For fuck's sake it was right in the word itself. Being cool was about not letting the little things get to you. It was about being able to get along with people. It was about understanding the rules of society. It was about going with the flow. Being unflappable. Making people comfortable around you.

Nick could see that, now that he wasn't having a full-blown meltdown. He didn't realize how much he had needed this. Needed to relax. His whole body had been tense. His mind had been racing. Now though, now that he was calmer things Nick realized that all those memories of this new world, this new him, weren't really that far away. _He _was the one who had been pushing them away. Refusing to accept them.

Why?

It made no sense now. There was a whole treasure trove. Years worth of memories of his life as Nicky. They weren't even all that different. God he wished he had been able to access them earlier, he realized how much of an idiot he had been getting ready. He was almost embarrassed by how long it had taken him to figure out he needed a bra, let alone figure out how to put one on. He had been acting like a little girl.

"You're right Joey. I'm so sorry I've been such an ass." Nicky said, smiling and giving her friend a hug.

When he broke from the embrace Joey was beet red.

"No, Nicky, I'm the one who's sorry. I shouldn't have..." Joey said, trailing off as his blush deepened.

Nicky giggled.

"Shouldn't have what? Explained how much of an ass I've been. Geez dude, lighten up! I mean I was the one acting like an idiot. Have you seen this new body of mine! It's fucking awesome. Do you know how good it feels to fondle your own boobs?" Nick said grinning like an idiot as he massaged his breasts.

"Nicky!" Joey said, hissing again.

"What?!" Nick said, scoffing at his friend's prudishness. "It's my body after all. Now that I'm totally fine with it, why shouldn't I enjoy the benefits. Hell, you want a turn? They feel so good. I only have vague memories of this new reality, but I remember that it feels so much better when someone else is giving them a good squeeze. Hell you can try motor-boating them for all I care. Come on, stop being lame. You were the one who did such a good job explaining this all to me!"

Joey looked at his friend, with renewed confusion.

"New reality? So you really remember things being different?" Joey said.

"Yeah." Nick said squeezing his breasts together, as he continued to paw at his female figure.

"And have I uh... Have I ever explained anything to you before? You know like I did today."

"I dunno. I mean like you've probably explained stuff to me at some point in our lives. We've known each other since we were boys, heh, pun not intended. But no, I can't remember the last time you 'explained anything' to me. Certainly never as well as that."

Joey's look of confusion was profound. Nick didn't really get what his friend was going off about, but before either of them could say anything Raj came barreling through the library, huffing with exhaustion, but there was also something else on his face. Excitement. He was about to blurt something out, something Nick could tell he had been holding in for a while, but he paused.

"Uh... Nicky? Why are you going to town on your uhm... you know... on your?" Raj said.

"You mean why am I groping my own hooters? Fucking hell dude, you totally would be too if you had a pair like these!" Nick said giving his friend a dirty chuckle and relishing the boy's discomfort as he hefted his own melons at his friend. The look on the guy's face was priceless.

"Can you just cut that out for a second." Raj said.

"Yeah. Please?" Joey said.

Nick rolled his eyes.

"Fine. God you two prudes, so uncomfortable with the female body. Maybe that's why you don't have much luck with the women. Or had maybe. At least Joey here seems to be figuring out how to get a woman of his own. Or two. Am I right buddy?" Nick said, leering at his friend.

"That's just it!" Raj said, his face going back to the same look of excitement. "It might not just be him. Someone told me that Isla and Taylor are looking for us, and I assumed it was a joke, but then they spotted me on the quad. So I didn't think that was a big deal, but then I realized they were following me and-"

"Wait. Isla and Taylor were looking for us?" Joey said. "And they were stalking you."

"Yes. No!" Raj said, his tongue tying itself up as he struggled to get the words out. "I mean yes they were stalking me, but no not _us, _me and Nicky!"

"Why would they be stalking us?" Nicky said, tilting her head and cocking her hips in confusion as she finally stop manhandling her chest.

"Because we want to ask you dorks out. Specifically this dork." Isla Cunningham said, looking at Raj.

Nick yipped. So did his friends. The blonde bombshell was had snuck up on them somehow. She was so close now Nick could smell the vanilla and coconut scent of her bodywash.

"We need dates to the Theta Upsilon Spring Formal. I was going to ask this granola chick" Taylor Vasquez said, joining her friend and eliciting a new round of yelps from the huddled nerds. She crossed her hands and gave Nick a withering look of superiority, even as she appraised Nick's new body.

Who did this bitch think she was? She was hot, yes. Nick couldn't deny that. But her tits weren't even as big as his.

"So what?" Nick said making sure to stick out his chest, as he walked up to Taylor, close enough to smell the Green Goddess dressing on her breath. "Are we some kind of a pity project? Did your precious Madison make you do this?"

"Hey I'm not saying that's not-" Raj started before Isla cut him off.

"Good. You should be grateful we're even asking. You're unaffiliated. If it weren't for Madison and Aynsley drooling over your weird friend-" Taylor continued.

"Woah. Joey is not weird! I'm not weird! Who do you think-" Raj tried to say, before once again being interrupted.

Nick was glad Raj was starting to grow a spine, but he knew how hot he was now. These girls knew it too, he realized. His new memories were full of mean girls like this, who hated that Nicky just because she had been an early bloomer. It wasn't her fault guys drooled all over her. She didn't even like guys. Not that way. Sure Joey had been a bit weird during puberty, but he and Raj accepted her. They didn't think she was some fake gamer girl, or a poser, and when she got older and started getting in touch with the queer community, started getting into tarot and spirituality, they might have ribbed her a little, but never in a mean way. She knew they accepted her, and she accepted them. And these two bitches thought they could push her friends around. Thought they could push her around.

Who did this Taylor think she was that she should offer Nicky a pity date, and then have the stubborn arrogance to call it charity. Nicky looked the other girl up and down. God, she must be a Leo. As an Aries herself she knew how compatible they could be, how adventurous their relationship could be, but even as tempting as that seemed there was no way she could be with someone who looked down her nose at Nicky's friends. At her.

Shit. Nick thought, shaking his head again. Realizing where his train of thought had gone, and blushing. Not that anyone noticed. Raj was now in the thick of it, as he, Isla, and Taylor looked ready to come to blows. And Nick did not like their odds against the girls.

Nick shot a glance at Joey. A pleading look. Nick had no idea what to do. Joey seemed angry, scared. His fists were in a ball. He'd already been upset at Nick for shouting, now here he was with the four of them at each other's throats.

"-just trying to get between my guy Joey and his new girlfriends aren't you?!" Raj said.

"OMG, as if we even care. Joey's a total Beta, and Madison and Aynsley are goddesses. We don't need to use you dweebs to break them up. It's only a matter of time." Isla said.

"Oh yeah?! Well we wouldn't go out with you anyways! You're just a couple of cun-" Nick said ready to land the final blow before Joey stopped him, stopped them all.

"Enough." Joey said, stepping forward. He literally put himself in the middle of the four of them, just as it seemed things were about to come to a head, he gave them all a look of barely contained rage. Nick had never seen his friend like this. None of them had. "You all need to stop fighting this isn't the time or place."

"So he finally speaks." Taylor said grinning a predatory grin. "You shouldn't be upset, we were only even willing to offer this because Madison asked us to. We don't want anything to do with you or your weird friends."

"Uhm actually..." Joey said, and the group got silent. Nick felt a tingle down his spine. "actually, you can't wait to go out with them. And what's more, you shouldn't get in the way of my romantic relationships. "

Nick would have had a nice gloat at the flummoxed look on Taylor's face. That is, if his own wasn't equally shocked. All Nick could do was stare at Joey.

"Oh shit I didn't mean for you-" Joey was saying, but Nick tuned out. There were more important things on his mind.

"You can't wait to go out with them"

After the screaming match the four of them had almost gotten into, Nick was ready to give up on ever being alone with Taylor.

But why?

Nicky, Raj, Joey and Jake had all fantasized about the Theta Upsilons. There weren't a lot of openly gay or bi girls in the sorority, and having a goddess like Taylor Vasquez interested in Nicky? How could she turn down an opportunity like that?!

Judging by the way Taylor was practically drooling over Nicky, she thought the other girl was actually coming to the same conclusion.

They were both fire signs after all. Some passionate arguing was bound to happen. Why let that get in the way of all the fun that could come from such a pairing.

Nicky was absolutely besotted with Taylor, and she was starting to realize the other girl had the same feelings. Feelings that they must have both been bottling up for a long time. Feelings that couldn't wait until Saturday's Spring Formal.

Nicky licked her lips thinking about the prospect of going out with a girl like Taylor. Of being her girlfriend. Nicky was practically panting at the thought. Just like the others.

"And what's more, you shouldn't get in the way of my romantic relationships."

That was so obvious.

Nick was happy for his bro. After everything Joey had done for him. All those years of friendship, in not one but two different timelines that Nick could remember. Not to mention the fact that if Joey hadn't explained things so well, Nicky never would have embraced her new body.

"He's right you know." Isla said, her pretty pink lips forming a perfect little pout. "I'm sorry I didn't see it before. I was so insecure about what everybody else thought. I really want to go to the Spring Formal with you Raj. Do you think you could ever forgive me?!"

"Of course I can. I can't wait to go out with you!" Raj said.

Isla leaned in, her lips brushing against his cheek, soft and warm.

“Thank you!” she had whispered, her breath tickling his skin. “You won’t regret it.”

"Joey. You were so right. We were such shits to your friends. Your amazing friends." Taylor said, looking deeply into Nick's eyes with her gorgeous large brown irises, prolonging Nick's agony, by just standing there, being gorgeous when all Nick wanted in the world was to go out with her. "We shouldn't get in the way of your relationship with Madison and Aynsley. If they make you happy, that's all we want. Well almost all"

Taylor punctuated this last part by kissing Nick on the mouth. The girl was taller than Nick's new diminished height, but there was something positively delicious about being wrapped in the other woman's embrace, reaching up on his tippy-toes to press his lips to hers. To feel her tongue in his mouth.

"But you know." Isla said, twirling a finger through Raj's thick black hair. "You should probably step up your date game. Luigi's is pretty kinda basic for a first date with two Theta Upsilons. Maybe get a bit more creative. A bit more romantic."

"Whatever Isla. That's so not our business, not when we have to hotties of our own right here." Taylor said, brushing the side of Nick's delicate features with the back of her hand.

Nick was barely listening any more. He was too busy nibbling on Taylor's neck. Breathing in the scent of her.

Joey didn't need to be told where things were going from here. It became all too apparent as Isla started to kneel down on the ground in front of Raj, with Taylor quickly following suit. Nick had no idea how Raj worked up the presence of mind to flash Joey a big dopey grin and thumbs up as Isla started to unzip his pants.

Joey bolted.

Fine. From the sound of things, it seemed like he had a lot on his plate. Nick just gave a Raj a disbelieving grin of pure bliss as Taylor played with his panties. Normally Nick would be embarrassed at the sight of a girl taking out his friend's cock at putting it lovingly in her mouth. He didn't see the problem now. Not when all of these bottled feelings were finally coming out.

How could they wait for a date with passion like this?

Nicky just leaned back against the stacks of books as Taylor's fingers dug into her supple thighs, luxuriating at the feel of the sorority girl's tongue lapping at her pussy. Pressing against her clit.

She moaned.

She knew she should get to the bottom of this. This transformation. The weird way Joey had been acting. This new reality. But all of that seemed so unimportant.

Nicky could feel Taylor's breath against her new pussy, and closed her eyes.

She would find Joey again. Eventually. Maybe they would even talk. For real this time. Get to the bottom of things, when they had a moment. Not now though. Now she just lost herself in the feeling of this gorgeous woman going down on her, sucking her clit. Now she was grateful Joey was gone.

There was no one to scold her as her moans got louder.
