Morning After Coffee and Conversation
“Morning, Ollie,” Paula said as she came around the counter of the coffee shop. She was beaming her usual lazy, bright smile and immediately went for her usual hug.
You groaned a little as you hugged her back. She’d been working the afternoons in the coffee shop the last couple of days so you’d missed seeing her - now that her parents were back from their vacation she was the bounce-around manager again instead of the acting-owner. At least for now.
“Good morning, Paula,” you sighed. It had been a bit of an early morning, after a very busy evening. Zara had woken you and April up with her tongue, and there had been a bit of a replay from the night before. Unfortunately, even though it was a Sunday, they both had to head back out into the suburbs, each of them with family plans that would keep them busy. So after a… busy early morning, and then a long shower that had helped your muscles relax after so much effort over the past half a day, you’d decided to resume your regular schedule and had texted to see if Margot was up for your usual breakfast meet.
“I’ve got something for you to try, Ollie,” she said, holding up a finger for you to wait where you were as she headed back behind the bar and then into the back.
“Morning, Ollie,” one of the other workers said, and it took you a second to click.
“Hikaru!” you said, almost in surprise. “Good morning- gosh, you look- Wow, Hikki. You really went all out this morning.”
“Thanks, I’ve gotten a bunch of compliments,” Hikaru said with a nervous laugh and smile. She didn’t look different, but she looked… like an ideal version of herself if the ideal was ‘stepped out of a magazine.’ Or maybe right out of an anime, if anime girls were real.
That was the thing about anime, and especially anime-inspired content - it was a weird conglomeration of Japanese and Western features based on the original artist’s style and what helped emote better on a 2d cartoon or 3d render for a video game. And Hikaru, half-Japanese and half-Cauasian, had a softer version of the traditional Japanese face. Add in the magic of makeup and…
“It’s not too much, is it?” Hikaru asked.
“No, you look great,” you said quickly, shaking your head. “I mean, I think you always look great, this is just, like, a… highlighted version of you. You’re looking radiant.”
“Aw, Ollie,” Hikaru said, tilting her head a little and smiling so sweetly her lip trembled a little. “Thank you so much. I love you.”
“Love you too, Hikki,” you said and reached over the counter. She met you and you hugged - a little awkwardly, due to the distance, but still.
“You just saw our resident Barista Model for the first time this morning, didn’t you?” Paula asked as she came back out from the back.
“I did,” you chuckled. “And I agree, definitely a model.”
“Guys,” Hikaru blushed, then turned away to get back to work as she got flustered.
Paula was grinning and turned back to you as she offered you a little sealed to-go box. “That should be perfectly suitable for your diet, Ollie,” she said. “And I’m so proud of you for sticking with it!”
“Thanks,” you said, feeling a little chagrined. It didn’t feel like you were making much progress yet; only a handful of sessions at the gym and a couple of weeks of getting used to the diet, including a couple of mess-ups when you thought things were allowed when they weren’t.
“Enjoy,” Paula said, rubbing your arm. The little box was warm in your hands like whatever was inside had been freshly made. “Can’t let my absolute favourite customer go hungry.”
“Hey,” one of the other regulars grumbled, gesturing at the empty spot in front of him as he held his coffee.
“There can only be one favourite, Teddy,” Paula smirked. Then she looked back at you. “Have a good day, Ollie.”
“You too, Paula,” you said, and she smiled warmly again before shooing you off so she could get back to work.
Taking a big breath, you took a weaving route through the tables and grabbed an open one near the front windows of the cafe. When you sat down with your coffee and snack you sighed a little and let your mind consider the things that you’d been pushing down throughout the previous conversation.
Paula, despite her lanky height, had a pair of big breasts hidden under her baggy shirts and apron. You’d kind of been generally aware of that before, and that she was pretty in a down-to-earth way, but she’d always just been… Paula. But that morning, after feeling two women pressing themselves to you in extremely intimate ways the previous night and earlier that morning, your mind had gone ‘Hey, I know that feeling! And it’s great!’ and you’d suddenly been desperately pushing down thinking of Paula in a sexual way.
You were friends. That was all. And you were dating April. Hell, you wanted April and Paula to meet properly one of these days because they would probably get along.
And then Hikaru stuns you because she goes from cute and lovable to… You gulped, not wanting to finish where that thought was going. Because she looked an awful like a fantasy version of herself. And you two might not have been cousins by marriage anymore, but she was still your Hikaru.
You opened the to-go container and found a trio stack of four-inch pancakes and a little container of maple syrup. A toothpick was poking into one of the pancakes and had a piece of tape with writing on it - ‘Super low-carb pancakes. Almond flour! Hannah Approved!’ And there was another piece of tape on the container of syrup. ‘Totally sugar free!’
Taking your time, you cautiously poured the syrup over one of the pancakes and used the plastic fork in the box to test a bite. And then you almost cried, because it did taste like actual pancakes and maple syrup. And God that was a good taste after two weeks of almost no carbs or sugar.
“Morning, stud,” Margot said, her voice a little teasing as she took the seat across from you, setting her coffee down.
Looking up at her did not help your earlier problem.
The first issue was that looking her in the eye immediately flashed you back to her smiling and winking at you as she walked, naked, into your washroom. The lines of her back, the curves of her ass. Her confidence. The way her long blonde hair looked cascading around her shoulders. And her knowing you were looking and encouraging you to keep doing so.
The second was that you knew she knew not only that you were having sex with April and Zara, but that it had happened again yesterday. And that was why she was calling you ‘stud.’
The third issue, and maybe the one that made the pancake in your mouth feel like you were swallowing a rock instead of the light and fluffy piece of heaven it had been a moment earlier, was that Margot looked different.
Maybe not different, not like Hikaru looked different that morning, but… different.
She’d done her long blonde hair in a pair of thick pigtail braids and was wearing one of her customary flannel shirts except instead of buttoned up other than a little peek of cleavage, it was entirely undone, and underneath she was wearing what looked like a tube top that exposed a good amount of her upper chest, and most of her stomach. It also might have been a little too small, because it was stretched over her bust.
And was that the outline of her nipple?
“Good-” you stopped, covering your mouth to cough and clear the lump from your throat. “Good morning, um, Streaker.”
Margot snorted and grinned. “OK, I admit, we got a little wild yesterday,” she said. “But it was fun, and I think I earned Zara’s respect by doing that dare. Plus the look on your face was so cute, Ollie.”
“Well, I was a little shocked,” you said.
“That’s why the dare was fun,” Margot said, reaching over and patting your hand and then holding it lightly. “You’re probably my favourite person, Ollie, so I felt completely safe doing a dare like that with you.”
You let out a sigh, a pressure you hadn’t noticed leaving your chest. Part of you had been worried that things would be awkward now that she wasn’t buzzed from an afternoon of drinking with the girls.
“Did you like what you saw?” Margot asked, making you cough all over again, which she snickered at lightly, knowing she’d gotten you again.
“Margot, you are-” you stammered.
“Go on, don’t keep a lady waiting,” Margot smirked.
“You’re a very beautiful woman,” you finally said. “And if anyone was going to streak the halls of our apartment complex, I would very much prefer it to be you I have to pull into my apartment, and not Mr Doughtry or Mrs Penn.”
That got Margot to snort and cover her mouth as she inhaled and choked on her next sip of coffee. She slapped my hand on the table, glaring at me for making the joke as she’d been drinking, then cleared her throat and rolled her eyes. “Yeah, OK,” she finally managed. “I guess that’s a fair point.” Our two elderly neighbours on the floor weren’t exactly at the peak of physical health or attractiveness - not that you could really comment. Both were sweet folks, but seeing them naked wasn’t exactly high on your list of things to do.
“Did everything go alright yesterday?” you asked, trying to change the subject.
“With the girls?” Margot mused. “I mean, probably as close to the best-case scenario as possible. Zara isn’t one of us or anything, but I think April feels closer to me, Hans and Hikki, and Zara tagged along and kind of mellowed out over time. Of course, that might've been because she was looking forward to your-”
“Please, no,” you groaned.
“-amazing hugs,” Margot finished, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
“Yep, that’s it. My amazing hugs,” you mumbled.
“Ollie?” Margot said, prompting you to look up from the table at her and it took effort not to pause for even a moment on her chest. Once you were looking her in the eye she smiled at you. “I love you, Ollie,” she said. “Everything’s going to work out. There’s nothing to worry about.”
You sighed again and nodded. “Thanks, Margot,” you said. “I just want everyone to get along. I couldn’t imagine not having you in my life now that you’re here, and maybe that changes in the future or something when your degree is finished, but… for now, you’re here. I love you too.”
You kept looking into each other's eyes, communicating how much the moment meant to the two of you, for another long moment before she let out a breath. “OK,” she said. “Explain to me why you have pancakes? Hannah will flip her shit.”
“They are on the approved list, I swear,” you chuckled, picking up the notes to show her. “No need for Hannah to blow her top. Promise.”
