The new laws deliberately set out to make the lives of women miserable and humiliating, and when it came to fashion, one such law required that no underwear be sold to women that was not humiliating or painful for them to wear.
In relation to the advertising of underwear, the law also provided that no woman would be allowed to *consent* to model such underwear in promotions, but that manufacturers may compel a woman of suitable measurements to work as a model providing that a psychological profile showed she would be suitably humiliated and demeaned by the work.
