An explanation

I looked at the table and saw a note. Oh, I glad the sisters were willing to give me the recipe for the Lady. Tomorrow I could finish up.

“What is happening?” Vivi asked.

I took the cups to the sink and got some fresh cups. “Who wants the story over tea?”

Vivi, Victoria, the Lady and Sofia raised their hands. I began boiling water for the next batch of tea. I looked at the marks Agala carved into the glasses. Oh, nice. I recognize these. Past vision and repair. I handed Victoria her glasses.

She put them on quickly. “What was that about?”

“Agala blessed your glasses,” I said. “I’ll teach you how the enchantment works another day.”

“So why is tea valuable to the gods,” Vivi asked.

“Because the three sisters love that brew,” I said.

“I don’t get it, they are gods, can’t they get their own tea?” Vivi asked.

Lillian raised her hand from outside and I pointed to her. “The gods aren’t allowed to farm the mortal planes for material. They can only collect what is offered to them.”

“Oh, so, your saying, that the goddess that changed me-”

I nodded. “Yep, she wanted the tea so she could barter with the three sisters later on.”

“Wait!” Lillian shouted. “Doesn’t that mean we should save these packets for other gods? Drascilla?”

Well, taking away the four I already used, and the six I owed to Allissa and three I owed to Drascilla, that was thirteen. Twelve for Master and the girls and that left five free packets. “I already planned to give her three. We will have five left over as well.”

Lillian did the math in her head but it was Vivi who was the first to reply. “You mean for us all to sample a cup?”

I nodded.

“Oh my,” the Lady said as she poured the boiling water into the tea cups. “If Rosemary wants us to try the best tea in the world, I say we do just that.”

“Yes my Lady,” we all said.

The Lady was the first to sip her tea. “Wow, that is good.”

Vivi took a sip next. “I don’t disagree, but not sure it is worth a day of processing.”

Victoria was next. “Holy cow. It’s perfect.”

Sofia was the last of this group to try. “Hmm, it soothes parts I didn’t realize needed soothing.”

I handed three packets to Lillian. “Wanna send them to Drascilla?”

“Yes,” she said smiling.

I grabbed six more for Allissa.

I was getting tired. The Lady seemed to notice, cuz she told me to go to bed early. I couldn’t help but to obey the Lady so I did just as she instructed.
