Lauren pisses off the wrong person
“WHAT IN THE HELL IS THIS?” bellowed Marie, Donnie’s wife, storming across the dance floor like a bull with a grudge. Her voice cut through the music, and heads turned. She was a mountain of a woman, she zeroed in on Lauren, who was fumbling to yank her overalls back up. “You little tramp, flauntin’ yourself at my man!”
Donnie threw up his hands, stepping between them. “Whoa, whoa, Marie, she’s just a kid! Ain’t nothin’ to it!”
Marie glare softened just a fraction, her meaty fists unclenching. She eyed Lauren up and down.
“Fine, my mistake,” Marie growled, crossing her arms. “But she ain’t gettin’ off scot-free.” Marie brought it, actually believing that Lauren weren't an adult.
Jade, sauntered over, "I'm so sorry, I'm meant to look after her. Do you want me to come up with a punishment."
Marla jabbed a finger at Lauren. “I trust you to handle this. This little madam needs to learn to behave.”
Jade tilted her head, sizing Lauren up as she held up her overalls. A slow, wicked grin spread across Jade’s face. “Well,” she drawled, tapping her chin, “Lauren’s always hated havin’ her hair braided up tight in pigatails.” She paused for effect, then added, “So that’s what we’ll do. Two braids, nice and neat, and she’s gotta keep like that during her whole stay.”
Lauren’s jaw dropped. “Jade, you can’t be serious—”
“Oh, I’m dead serious,” Jade cut in, already reaching, twirling Lauren's hair. Marie nodded, satisfied, and lumbered back to the bar, muttering about “teaching respect.” Donnie just chuckled, tipping his hat to Lauren before slinking off to avoid more trouble.
Lauren groaned. “I’m gonna kill you for this.”
“Should’ve kept your overalls on, then,” Jade shot back, smirking. "You'll look cute. It will make Marie happy. You got lucky."
