"Ring Ring"

Groaning, Jason opened his eyes and checked his ringing cell phone.

3:08am

Not recognizing the number, he answered it, growling, "Whoever this is, it better involve the hospital or jail."

After a long second, a female voice replies, "I do apologize for calling you at this hour, but is this the phone of Mr. Jason Clarkson?"

Hearing your name, you sigh, and sitting up, you reply, "Speaking."

"Oh good," the voice replies before continuing, "Mr. Clarkson I'm Principal Barbara Smalley at Tempest Central High School. We've had an emergency come up and would like to offer you a teaching contract. If possible, could you come by my office today to talk about it?"

Must be some emergency to need a new teacher two days into the school year, you think to yourself.

Thinking, you reply, "Sure, Principal Smalley, I'm subbing for a morning kindergarten class tomorrow, so I should be able to make it over to you around 2, maybe 2:15."

Sounding relieved, Principal Smalley replies, "That would be okay, Mr. Clarkson. Once again, I'm sorry about calling you at this ungodly hour, but it couldn't wait."

Wishing you a good night, The principal hangs up, probably heading for her own bed.

Getting up, you walk through your darkened house into the bathroom to empty your bladder. After a couple of minutes, you finish, and after washing your hands, you look into the mirror.
