A few days off.

I let out a deep breath as I look up at myself in the mirror, sweat beads on my forehead, "I fucking hate dead lifts." I look around and confirm that I'm still alone in the gym.

Clank. Clank. Clank.

I stretch my back as the bar hits the ground for the last set, I sit down on the bench and pick up my phone. A few moments later I look over my shoulder as a hand clasps down.

"Hey dude!" I grin as my eyes meet Sai's, I stand up and dap him up properly, "How's it going man? I haven't seen you in a bit, you've not been coming to classes." Sai sits down on the bench and I join him, he shakes up some pre-workout as he talks. "I've been doing them online, moving from that apartment and then having to commute back would be torturous."
I grin and nudge his shoulder "You could come back to the dorm bro." He laughs and snorts as he shakes his head "I'll think about it dude, a shared dorm a whole apartment, what a hard choice." Sai takes a sip of his pre-workout and continues, "Uh. How's Ari? Have you talked to her recently?" I notice Sai's smirk in my peripheral vision, I roll my eyes "I haven't, why?" I decide to humor my best friend, guessing where this is going.
Without even looking up I can almost hear the grin formed on his face. "She and I, we are" He clears his throat proudly. "Dating now!" I smack him on the back with a smile "Congrats dude, How long now?"
"Roughly around two weeks, start of the month vibes."

Huh? Two weeks?
But. Only last week Ari and I... When I went to Vi's dorm to get the USB... Huh?

"Wait, so you guys have been like talking for the last two weeks and just made it official or been official for two weeks and kept it quiet?"

"Nah official but just kept it to ourselves a bit."

What the fuck? Shit, Maybe I should tell him? Or should I talk to Ari first? Shit

"Well, shit congrats dude." I squeak out uneasily. "She's a wild one."

He nods and laughs as he finishes his pre-workout. "What about you and Vi? How are you guys going? She's at an airbnb for her labs right?" I nod in response. "Yeah 2 hours away, she comes back end of next week."

"That's shit man" Sai stands up. "Alright, well I'm going to go start my workout. See you around bro." Sai walks off.

I sigh and look up to the ceiling. Shit man, he's my best mate, I need to talk to Ari. I look down at my phone and have a glance at the time. Vi will be finishing her lab soon, I'll call her and see if she knows anything, I'll be subtle just in case she doesn't know about them. I grab my bags and head back up stairs to my dorm room.
