“Aldo, how did you score such a hot chick on your first try?” he asked me with shock and I wonder that exact same thing to be honest. But I just responded with a shoulder shrug which is the universal indicator of the statement, “I have no idea” and thus my day with Milo quickly reached the end with we as we already completed the classes and I had a date. The words I thought I will never say, like ever.

So for the date, my first thought was to wear something extremely formal, like I have seen in the movies and while this idea did not seem that great in the hindsight, it was my inexperience that helped me make an extremely good decision. I wore a formal trench coat and scarf as the month of October here could be really cold and for my lower body, I decided on a formal pant.

It was something that have always made me confident no matter the occasion but even wearing this absurdly formal dress for this occasion did not bring any comfort unfortunately. I asked Milo, if I should bring any flowers or any chocolate to my date and he flat out said, “Do it, if you want to stay single for the rest of your life.”

If Milo is saying it then, I would refrain from it. Now it was around 7:15PM in the evening and as decided to go to Cafè Bouger (a local french cafe), I was waiting for her at a table. I noticed that there were definitely not a lot of people here. This made me feel more relaxed because if I end up embarrassing myself, there is no one who will see that.

Suddenly I was woken up forcefully by an outside voice, “Bonjour Monsieur, would you like to place an order for a coffee?” and I looked up, there was a young woman probably a bit older than me and I swiftly told her that I am waiting for a date. She looked at me all tensed up and gave a small giggle, a pleasant one and said, “Ah is it your first one? You look way too tense, relax a little bit,”
