The sun rose in Tom Losers' home with him newly awakened; throughout the rest of the night, he couldn't shake off what Staxis had in store for him.

It wasn’t too difficult to come up with an excuse to his parents to be away for an indefinite time; he didn’t even have to use his powers on them.

And as soon as he stepped outside the house…

“Hi hi… Ready for your little test!”

The attractive blonde appeared behind him with her majestic eyes and wicked smile, which Tom was starting to detest.

“Hello,” he said, lacking any enthusiasm.

“Oh come on, don’t tell me you’re still upset about yesterday,” Staxis said in an innocent tone.

Our protagonist didn’t say a word; he simply let his furrowed brow speak for him. The deity, seeing this, changed her expression to a more bitter one.

“Okay, okay, I'm sorry; I was just playing a bit with you... Are you happy now?” she said with little enthusiasm, showing a **** smile.

“Forget it... just ten cents. What do you want me to do for you?” Tom asked, wanting to turn the page.

“Now that’s the spirit, kid! Alright, put your hand on my shoulder... don’t worry, nothing will happen to you.”

Eros's son hesitated for a second, but in the end, he complied.

He followed her instructions, leaning on the blonde to avoid falling, and began to feel better; even his vision started clearing up.

The first thing he noticed was that he was no longer at the entrance of his house; he was in what appeared to be a dark alley, one of those places where people don’t often go.

“But no... no... Where are we?” Tom asked, more confused than ever.

“Where?” Hehe... well, in the Big Apple, kid! New York!”

The sound of various horns from different cars in the distance, along with Staxis's words, cleared his mind as he turned in all directions, astonished.

“NEW YORK? BUT THAT'S MILES AWAY!” Tom shouted in disbelief.

Seeing that he was improving, the blonde walked towards the sound of the cars.

“Teleportation, a wonderful ability that makes any crude method of mortals look ridiculous.”

He followed her until they reached a huge and vibrant city bustle; the towering skyscrapers and the numerous people passing by confirmed to Tom that they were indeed in the Big Apple.

“WOW... it’s all incredible... in an instant.”

“I know, well as a movie says, we’re not in Kansas anymore,” she said, showing him the city. “But enough sightseeing; it’s time to work.”

They both stopped at the foot of a large building, most likely belonging to an important company. Tom had never been inside such a large building, nor had he dreamed of doing so.
