Chapter 41 by Elrompeortos2000 Elrompeortos2000

To the realm of the dammned?

Into the realm of Hades

Chapter 31: Hades.

At dawn, I left Sparta, heading toward the open plains where I could summon Athena. The cold morning air bit at my skin, but it wasn’t enough to distract me from the turmoil in my heart. My mind lingered on the events of last night. What I had said, what I had done..was wrong, and I knew it. The looks on their faces, the silent disappointment and anger, replayed in my mind like a haunting refrain.

I felt like I had betrayed their trust, the fragile bond that had grown between us over our shared struggles. Their glances as I prepared to leave had said it all. Yet I had to press forward. This mission, as dangerous and uncertain as it was, needed to be done. And if I had to do it alone, so be it.

By the time I reached the plains, the emptiness around me only emphasized the weight of my solitude. I stood there for a moment, gathering my resolve, when a familiar voice cut through my thoughts.

“Hey, wait up!” Iris’s voice carried over the still air, and I turned to see her running toward me, the rest of the group not far behind.

They had followed me.

Surprised, I looked at each of them, unsure of what to say. “I thought you didn’t want to come with me,” I said, my voice low with shame and regret.

“We don’t,” Ikaro said bluntly, his tone devoid of his usual humor. The others silently nodded in agreement, their expressions a mix of frustration and determination. “But we’re not letting you go alone down there. Especially since Hades specifically asked for all of us. Whether we like it or not, we’re in this together.”

I shifted my gaze to Noor, hesitating. “And you?” I asked. “Aren’t you worried about what Ardvi might do?”

Her eyes narrowed, her anger evident, but her voice softened just enough to betray her care. “Of course, I’m worried,” she said, her tone sharp yet controlled. “And I’m still pissed at you. But like the others said, we can’t let you do this alone. We made a vow to stop the Erebosians, no matter what. So, yes, I’m going to the Underworld.” As she finished speaking, her hand ignited with a dark purple flame, a sign of Ardvi’s disapproval. She winced but shook it off.

“Noor—” I started, concern etched on my face, but she cut me off.

“Don’t. Let’s just get this over with.” She replied cold.

Iris crossed her arms, her frustration evident. “Can we get this going? The sooner we start, the sooner we’re done.”

Nodding, I looked skyward and called out, “Athena! We’re ready.”

The ground beneath us rumbled, and a glowing red portal opened, spiraling downward into darkness. The sight sent a chill through me. “Well,” I said, glancing at the others, “no turning back now.”

I stepped forward, leading the way into the portal.
The sensation was disorienting, a rush of heat and cold, the weight of gravity pulling at me from all sides. When we landed, the air was heavy and oppressive. A crimson river stretched out before us, its surface shimmering with an unnatural glow.

“Yep, that’s the Styx, all right,” Ikaro muttered, trying to mask his unease with sarcasm.

From the distance, a small boat approached, steered by a skeletal figure cloaked in tattered robes. Charon, the ferryman of the dead, stopped before us, his empty eye sockets boring into each of us in turn.

“Greetings, mortals,” he rasped, his voice hollow and tired. “Normally, I’d demand payment, but my boss has already made arrangements. Consider yourselves fortunate. Or not.” He motioned for us to board.

“Right,” I said, gesturing for the group to follow. We climbed into the boat, taking our seats in silence. The atmosphere was heavy, not just with the weight of the Underworld but with the tension among us. The camaraderie that had once defined our group was now fractured, each of us lost in our own thoughts.

As the boat glided over the Styx, a voice resonated in my mind, deep and commanding. “You came after all. I was beginning to doubt you would answer my call.”

“Hades?” I responded silently, my heart pounding.
The voice didn’t reply, but suddenly, the boat came to an abrupt halt. Charon stood motionless, his skeletal hand gripping his oar.

“What’s going on? Why are we stopping?” Noor’s voice was laced with alarm as she looked around, her hand instinctively lighting up with magic.

“My job is done,” Charon said flatly. “The rest is up to you.”

Before any of us could respond, a thick black smoke began to envelop the boat, swirling around each of us.

“What the hell is this?!” Iris shouted, her voice tinged with panic as her body began to fade.
“Kayn!”

Her scream was the last thing I heard before she vanished into the smoke. One by one, the others disappeared as well; Ikaro, Noor, Entinos. All consumed by the shroud. I reached out, but the darkness claimed me too, a blinding light exploding in my vision as my senses were pulled in every direction.

-Right so this chapter is smaller than the others because it’s going to be splitting into 5 different chapters each one a unique individual one for each of the characters. There will be one which will be the main one(Kayn) which will advance the plot further, while the other 4(Noor,Ikaro, Iris and Entinos) are optional but It will be nice if you read them as well since they will added some development to their characters.

Where did they go?
