An encounter with Ruby.

Jaune returned to class, and as Professor Port was wrapping things up, he noticed an odd sort of tension seemed to be between Ruby and Weiss. He put it aside for the moment, and did his best to focus on the end of the lesson. It was difficult when Professor Port once again started to drone on about his glory days. Soon enough, the day in class came to an end, and Jaune sighed, realizing book learning was probably going to be a big part of Port's class. He suspected Ozpin kept him around to **** students to develop good study habits.

As class filed out, Jaune noticed Ruby leaving quickly. "...you guys go ahead without me for now," he told his team, before going after Ruby.

"Ah, are we gonna have to wait for him?" Nora pouted.

"It's not like we need him to have fun," Ren smiled at her, and she grinned back.

"True enough~!" she said eagerly.

Jaune found Ruby in a hallway that didn't get much use. She seemed a bit closed off and depressed. "Hey, you okay? Did I miss some kind of fight between you and Weiss?" he asked her as he approached.

"Wha- Oh, hi Jaune~!" she greeted him, brightening up slightly, before getting depressed again. "Yeah, something like that... she questioned my appointment to being leader of our team after she beat the Boarbatusk..."

"The what? Oh right, is that the type of Grimm she fought?" Jaune inquired.

"Yep, and she doesn't seem happy about not being team leader herself..." Ruby sighed. "I think she believes Ozpin made a mistake. And maybe she's right..." As she spoke, she turned her attention towards Jaune, her heart pounding as something stirred within her.

"I don't think she is. I mean, it's Ozpin's opinion about the matter that matters most, isn't it?" Jaune pointed out, before rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "Though, given I was made leader of my own team, maybe I have a bias. Still... if we are going to be leading our teams, then I think it's best if we do our utmost to not disappoint Ozpin, or our teams..."

She considered his words, before nodding. "You may be right..." she stated, blushing as she slowly started to approach him.
