Megan was seeking to resolve one of the most infamous problems in Physics and to collapse the different possible realities for a quantum particle into a single true reality. This would be a quake at the foundations of the field, and her advisor Dr. Cassandra Johnson supported her whole-heartedly.

A massive and incredibly expensive machine filled their basement laboratory, a nest of wires and tubes capturing a single quantum particle in the middle. Megan stood with one hand on the lever that would collapse the two realities the particle existed in to one measurable reality. She shook slightly, thinking about the edge-case in her calculations suggesting this could cause her reality and a significantly different reality to merge together with potentially wide-reaching effects.

Still, she pulled the lever, and while she and Dr. Johnson celebrated the measurements of the particle, the fusion of her reality to another began.
