Chapter 11 by sexyslave sexyslave

Seriously? Join the League? No way he was qualified, right?

Maybe, but Wonder Woman makes some great points.

"The Justice League!? You can't be serious!" Felix paced, holding his head as Diana gazed at him in some amusement. "There's no way I'm cut out to be a part of it!"

"Why not, Master?" Diana asked, levitating up behind him, and massaging his shoulders. "The mere fact that you were able to summon me from my lamp after the conditions I made is a strong argument for your own sense of justice."

"I'll grant you that for the sake of argument, but what would I even have to offer them?" he asked in frustration. "I don't have any real special talents! And sure, I am a Metahuman, but my power is basically useless! I'm just a simple Empath, against serious threats, I may as well have no superpowers at all!"

"...I got one word for you, Master. Batman," Diana replied. Felix stared at her as he processed his own words used against him.

"...he doesn't count," Felix finally said. "Technically superhuman or not, he is not normal. And don't even get me started on all the tools he has at his disposal, he's either filthy stinking rich, or is backed by someone who is. Neither of which apply to me. Hell, I'm dreading the debt I'm going to be in to replace my car. It got pulverized by Green Lantern by mistake while you guys fought Doomsday..."

"...point taken, but my own point is that superpowers aren't even mandatory for being part of the League. Batman himself isn't even the only member who's simply human. There are many more, but they all bring unique talents to the table. And not everyone plays strictly combat roles," she added.

"Right, special talents," he grumbled, doubtful. "Which I have exactly zero of. At least anything useful to the League."

"On the contrary, Master, you have a wonderful gift. Empaths have more to work with than you might think!"

"Like what, something literally anyone can do by reading body language and facial expressions?" Felix asked sardonically.

"Master, those are things that can be misleading even to the best of the art of it, but your power can't be lied to," Wonder Woman chided. "And your gift can have combat uses too... with a bit of refinement, you could probably sense where someone is based on where the emotion is coming from, be they an enemy, or someone in need of help in a combat zone. You also can't disregard the uses it might have for psychological warfare, as you would be able to tell what was working in terms of getting under an opponent's skin. Or you could reason with foes that could be reasoned with. And finally, you could make for a decent therapist. The League could use that. We deal with a lot of... trauma amongst our ranks."

"Right, and you don't already have one?" Felix asked. "I also don't exactly have a degree. I was planning to become a doctor, actually, but wanted to raise some money for tuition before going to college so I wouldn't get too deep into debt..."

"We mostly rely on Black Canary for it..." Diana admitted. "But I promise you, even if you aren't qualified now, those who show promise can join on a more probationary level, and learn the ropes. Besides, you DO have me, and your access to my powers to offer."

"...something anyone morally worthy holding your lamp can use..." Felix replied. Still, he could see her point. If the League was willing to at least try to train him for a permanent role with them... then he actually wasn't against it. He'd looked up to people like Superman since he was younger after all. And honestly, if they did deem that he shouldn't hold onto Diana, as tempting as she was to keep, he wouldn't hold that against them. Turning her lamp over to the League at that point was the responsible thing to do, after all...

Do they do anything else before going to find another member of the League?
