The bee fiasco

He walked away when I suddenly remembered the whole bee fiasco currently going on. Damn it! I forgot to tell them and the waiter didn’t even notice!

The buzzing suddenly got louder. Emma gasped in response, bringing her head down and staring at the table as she lightly shook.

I didn’t realize it would scare her this much! No more playing around, I need to find this bee immediately!

I stood up, walking over to the shaking Emma. As I got closer the sound got even louder, but I couldn’t find a sign of the dang thing. I looked all around her it simply wasn’t there!

“Are you okay?” I lightly placed my hand on her shoulder.

“Y-yeeeessss!” She exclaimed, gasping with a red face. “I-I’m okay babe, I’m okaaayyyy…”

Her hands curled into fists as she looked up and struggled to smile at me. Her teeth were clenched and her eyes were going upwards as she shook.

And then suddenly the buzzing disappeared. Emma let out an annoyed grunt, gasping for air as she leaned backwards. She looked up at me, a nervous look on her face.

“John…” She whispered.

“It’s okay.” I told her. “The bee is gone now.”

“The…bee?” She replied, blinking at me.

“Yeah, it’s gone. No need to worry.” I replied.

She stared at me for a good moment before covering her mouth. Her eyes crinkled as she let out a quiet “thank you”.

Well I’d didn’t do much, that pesky bee got away. I’m so terrible at finding those guys…

I walked back to my seat as Emma suddenly pulled out her phone. She looked at it for a moment, eyes wide.

“Everything okay?” I asked.

“O-oh, yes.” She smiled. “Just a text from Asher about…work. Nothing to worry about.”

“That’s good to hear.” I nodded.

“A-anyways!” She quickly stood up. “I-I need to go to the restroom! Be right back!”

And then she quickly hurried off before I could say anything.

I wonder if the fright from the bee is still affecting her. Damn bee ruining my date and making my girlfriend upset…
