What does Samus look for?
Related Upgrades
Samus was certainly not the same person anymore. But her instincts still said there was something more to this particular chip. Even if the data was gone or corrupted she could probably still find similar upgrades sent here at the same time or from the same place.
“Computer, find any upgrade chips with the approximate same origin as the Miko chip.”
“My search reveals three, Miss Aran. They are Kansen, Kitsune, and Reality.”
“Give me the description of all three.”
“I have no description of Kansen or Kitsune. I do have a description of Reality.”
“Fine then. Tell me.”
“Reality: Effects, one way transportation to a destination in distant past of the world Terra, known by this device as Earth. The amount of distance travelled through time is unclear, Miss Aran. The effects are defined as instantly permanent.”
Samus thought for a moment. “Kitsune is the fox, I know now. But Kansen doesn’t give me enough information. And this… this would be irreversible. I would be sent back to Earth as it was before the wars.”
“There is also a chance you could find the source of these chips and receive answers from them.”
“It’s one in a billion…”
She had a feeling that if these were created together, they should be taken in the same way. She, the beautiful and heavily pregnant Miko, was no longer a fit for this galaxy. Staying would risk herself and her daughters. Going to earth, her species original but long lost home, would be the opportunity. She’d find herself in a far more safe society for her to learn about her powers and raise her children in. The instincts of both her old self and her current both said the same thing.
“I’ll be leaving this place computer.” She smiled. “Please, give me all three upgrades.”
“Caution: The effects of these will be irreversible in the past you are most likely to travel to.”
“I know. I’m willing to do it though.”
“Very well.” The computer dispensed the three chips, making sure Samus could tell which ones were which.
Samus stashed Kitsune and Kansen in the pockets in her sleeves. She studied the unassuming Reality chip harshly before reaching around her neck to insert it.
“Next stop, Earth.” She inserted the chip
