Chapter 2

Who are you?
James Gardner, A lucky inheritor
"So...this is legit? There is no extra pulls or anything I need to worry about?"
James held up a piece of paper in disbelief.
The lawyer sitting across the table smiled and clapped his hands once.
"Yes. Any and all legal shenanigans, including taxes, are all taken care of. What's written on that paper is 100% all yours."
"That's crazy..."
James looked down at the paper again.
He had never even seen such big numbers behind a dollar sign ever before, much less the endless list of properties he now owned.
Compared to this list, this dingy household he lived in had next to no relevance in...anything, really.
"I didn't even know I had a relative before...this is awesome!"
James hurridly signed the form, legally making himself one of the richest person ever—including various celebrities.
The lawyer offered a hand.
James took it and shook it, barely containing himself from boucning up and down in excitment.
As the lawyer got ready to leave, James raised his hand as if he was in a classroom.
"H-hey, I...I never had this much money in my life. What should I do with it?"
Rhe lawyer paused and scratched his chin.
"Well...your grandfather had already made the incomes automated well enough, so I'd suggest you use it for some entertainment."
"Entertainment...like games or anime? I don't do well with outdoor activities."
The lawyer chuckled.
"Sure, if you want to. It is your money afterall.
But as a personal advise, if you want to spend loads of money, I'd suggest you visit RealDreams."
"RealDreams..."
James muttered.
He was aware of the company name, of how they revolutionized the human history forever.
He'd also vaguely heard about their biggest industry included bringing various fictional characters to life or whatever.
Of course, those stories had been something far out of reach for a low-income peasant such himself.
But now, things were different.
Millons of dollars automatically dropped into his bank account without any work to be done by himself.
James swallowed, his excitement growing as his imagination was allowed to stretch their wings for the first time in decades.
"You know, that's not a bad idea. I think I'll go there right now."
The lawyer tipped his hat for the last time and left.
James looked around his apartment for the last time.
The cracked walls with washed-up paint, the moist ceiling with large patches of molds growing, and the unidentified stentch in the air.
All of them were now a thing in his past.
"Hell yeah."
James pocketed the black card and hurried out the door. If he was lucky, he might be able to grab the next automatic car in time.
