Chapter 93 by SG SG

Good question.

Three.

"I really want her," Madison said and pointed to the shortest one in the group. The golem stepped forward and gave a friendly smile.

"Thanks! I look forward to serving you!"

Ross gave her a weird look and she shrugged. "What? I always wanted a mini-me."

He rolled his eyes and pointed to the golem who had winked earlier. "You're in, of course."

She whooped a little with excitement and grinned. "Thank you, sir. I'm very excited."

"What's with the personalities?" he asked Madison.

"Oh, that's a really cool part of their script," Madison told him. "When they're serving guests, they slowly develop personalities based on your reactions. So if they get better responses from smiles, they'll smile more, and so on."

"That's right, sir." the enthusiastic golem said. "I know you like Madison's cheerful disposition, so I added a little pep to my step."

"Self-deprecating humor is the easiest trait to adopt, so naturally I'll find a way to screw it up," the short one said.

"Ok," Ross said. "That's... slightly unsettling. I mean, don't stop, but I could have used a heads-up before you started acting like people."

"Oh man, that's really good idea!" another chimed in. "We'll do it next time, unless Madison gives us all specific instructions not to again. Then I guess we'll just have to wait till she just blurted it out again."

"I'm not that sarcastic," Madison said with a roll of her eyes. "Let's see, maybe a brunette for variety? Nice ass on that one."

She pointed and the tall, voluptuous woman with long brown hair approached them. Hair color aside, she could have been Madison's sister.

Watching her hips as she approached, Ross nodded. "Definitely."

"Awesome," she said and patted him on the shoulder. She lined up with the others while Ross and Madison conferred.

"I think we've got enough," Ross said.

"You don't know how big our bedrooms are," Madison giggled. "Seriously, though, now we should name them."

"We name them?" he asked. "Like, they don't have names?"

"Not yet. Not until you give them names. Technically, you don't have to, but it makes things a lot easier."

"I should show you that script and make you do it," Ross joked.

"Not unless you want them to John, Jon, and Jonathan," she laughed. "It's weird, man. It's like writer's block for everything single idea you can have." She pointed to the shortest golem. "Let's call her Shortstack. What are you, Shortstack? 4'11"?"

"Five feet even, ma'am," Shortstack replied cheerfully. "But I can fix that at the resculptor-"

"You don't need to do that," Ross said irritably. "And we're not calling her fucking Shortstack. You're, um, Madeleine."

"Madeleine?" Madison scoffed. "Come on, dude, you can't have a Madeleine and a Madison! It's, uh, confusing..." she trailed off as she stared absently at the modifier in Ross's hand. She looked up at him with hazy eyes. "You did the modifier again. Thanks."

"What happens if I show it to you again?" he asked.

"It gets twice as, uh..." she trailed off, staring at the script. Ross put it away, but Madison's gaze remained fixed in front of her. He waved his hand in front of her and she tracked it with her eyes, but didn't respond.

"Madison?"

She turned to him, looking surprised. "Oh! Hi."

"Are you ok?" he asked.

"Yeah," she said. Her gaze was dull.

"What's with all the one word answers?" he asked.

"It's hard to motivate myself to speak more than necessary," she said.

"Oh, so now you're like a zombie or something?"

"Yeah."

What do we do with self-described Zombie Madison?
