Chapter 89 by sexyslave sexyslave

How does the exercise go?

A bit of planning, and running into Bakugo.

"...okay, I admit it, Plan A wouldn't work with those two," Todoroki admitted as he and Izuku were waiting for the green light to start.

"What was Plan A?" Izuku asked.

"I freeze the whole building, and their shoes to the floor," Todoroki replied. "Ice is much harder to break than you realize. Unfortunately, the one with the explosion Quirk has the capability to free himself for sure, and I suspect Iida is fast enough to only have the briefest of moments of his feet contacting the ground. Not enough time for my ice to get a grip..."

"Maybe the opposite then? Ice is slippery, so you could cover the floor in it when we reach him so he can't safely run around?" Izuku suggested.

Todoroki blinked. "Huh. That sounds effective actually..." High speed often led to less control, making slippery surfaces far more of a risk for speedster types. "You also seem to know the Bakugo guy a bit... What can you tell me about him?" he asked, all business.

"Kaachan? He's... Kind of a hothead, to say the least, and he kind of has something against me... He'll probably come straight for me and leave Iida to guard the bomb..."

"...Kaachan?" Todoroki blinked.

"Oh, uh... It's just what I call him. Believe it or not, we used to be friends of a sort before our relationship took... A sour turn." That was putting it mildly. Todoroki seemed rather skeptical, but didn't pry further. "So our best bet is probably me sticking around to keep him busy when he finds us while you go after the bomb?"

"No. If Bakugo is foolish enough to leave his partner, we can simply take the advantage he so generously gave us, crush him and move on, and then we can either defeat Iida, or have one of us distract him while we secure the weapon," Todoroki replied. "While your strategy for me to face him is sound, we shouldn't place all of our eggs in one basket. On the off chance Bakugo is too difficult to subdue without the time frame of a few minutes, we can always split up at that point. It shouldn't come to that though."

Izuku blinked, recognizing the logic in Todoroki's suggestion. While he did kind of want to prove himself against Bakugo, Todoroki's advice was sound. "...alright, my plan can be the backup plan, we try to subdue Kaachan first, but if doing so takes more than a few minutes, you go after the bomb alone while I keep him occupied," Izuku nodded.

Satisfied that they had come to an agreement, Todoroki waited for the green light, and it soon came. They quickly headed for the building, Izuku keeping his eyes peeled.

"There you are, Deku!" Bakugo's voice roared, an explosion headed their way. Izuku immediately grabbed Todoroki, channeling two percent of One For All, and leapt away as fast as he could, dragging his teammate by the arm. He managed to avoid the worst of the blast, only receiving a few small cuts from shrapnel.

"...as expected, Kaachan came right for me, and left Iida to guard the bomb," Izuku muttered to Todoroki, who seemed mildly annoyed at the assistance, as he had been about to put up an ice wall to defend himself, but decided not to press the issue. "Let's take him."

Todoroki nodded, exhaling frosty breath as he prepared to quite literally freeze Bakugo in his tracks.

Does Bakugo stand a chance against both Izuku and Todoroki?
