Many of the doors were locked, John kept trying, hoping to get lucky and find one that was still open and allowed him to slip inside. He couldn't open any door, but that didn't mean someone couldn't open a door for him.
As John was about to run down the hall, he heard the clicking of a turning doorknob. John spun around and saw one of the doors slightly open and someone was staring at him through the crack.
"Come here!" she whispered. John wasted no time and scrambled to the open door. His savior opened the door and he entered the room in seconds. Once inside and the door was closed, John allowed himself to calm down and take in his surroundings. He knew to expect a dorm, like his, with some slight changes depending on who lived there. The set of weights in the corner would have told John that his new friend liked to keep in shape, but he wasn't focused on them.
The naked body lying on the floor took up John's attention. Before John could get a better look at it, his brain instantly realized that it was dead.
