The Stolen Honeymoon

They hadn't been able to afford a very big wedding. Neither Mike nor Jemma's parents helped out with it, so their budget was small. As much as Mike wanted a small wedding so they could splurge on the honeymoon, Jemma wasn't having any of that. She'd been planning her wedding since she was a child and she wasn't going to sacrifice any part of it! Besides, they could always have a fun honeymoon later!

That had been the plan, anyways. But the plans changed quite suddenly. Somehow, Mike's boss, Rick, found out about their predicament and offered to help. He had a business meeting scheduled in Hawaii and could bring them with him for the week there. He would just need Mike to do some work for an hour or so, but he'd otherwise be free.

The offer was too good to pass up, so they obliged. The hotel they ended up at was like a multi-million dollar resort; there was no way Mike and Jemma could ever afford anything like this! Mike wasn't really a fan of all of the chatting Rick had been doing with Jemma, but she didn't seem to be too bothered by it. "Your boss is such a fascinating man!" She smiled as they finally reached their room. "He said he'd show me around while you were working one of these days!"

At least it was something to do, he thought. He didn't want her to just sit around in boredom on their honeymoon. The flight left him rather wiped out, though. Jemma smiled and let him take a nap while she went to explore.
