Andrew knocked on the bedroom door loudly to no response.

"Come on, dude!" he pleaded. "You can't stay in there forever!"

"I want that fucking thing out of my apartment!" came the muffled reply.

"We've got to figure out what we're going to do with him!"

Ross opened the door. His face was red and his eyes were bloodshot. "Not Chambers. Madison. I want that fucking thing out now."

Andrew nodded and retreated to the living room where Erica and Madison were anxiously waiting.

"Is he mad at me?" Madison asked, her eyes brimming with tears.

Andrew couldn't meet her gaze. "He'd like you to leave."

She nodded, but didn't move. She looked imploringly at Erica, who understood immediately. Erica took Andrew to the couch and sat down beside him.

"She can't leave right now," Erica explained gently. "She can't be sure that you or Ross won't harm Dr. Chambers."

Andrew stared at Erica uncomprehendingly for a moment before turning to Madison.

"You're still protecting him?" he hissed. She recoiled at the venom in his words. Erica rubbed his back soothingly.

"She can't help it, Andrew. It's the modifier. She must do what's best for Cecil."

"Even after she turned him to a pile of fucking mud on the floor?" Andrew spat.

"Especially now," Madison said quietly. "He's completely helpless until we can bind a script to him. I'm not leaving him alone in this state, especially not with people who have a reason to do him harm."

"Oh, for God's sake," Andrew groaned. "Just fucking reset her already!"

Erica shook her head. "Dr. Chambers had the foresight to lock her scripts. Only he can unbind them. The only alternative is your release tablet. I don't suppose you have it with you?"

Andrew's sullen silence was enough for her to infer the answer.

"Then either you'll need to get it or we'll need to give him a script. We can give him mine, but I'm not bound to obey you. He'll be willing to sleep with you but we can't guarantee that he'll release Madison. Do you have any scripts on hand?"

Andrew shook his head and clenched his fists.

"Ross does, doesn't he?" Madison said softly. "Do you think it would help if I talked to him?"

"I don't think so," Andrew told her. "He's pretty upset."

They stared at him and he sighed. He turned and went back down the hallway to knock again.
