Chapter 7 by Molotov989

The problem with Goat-men

We have plenty of wood (other choices)

"No," you speak after a moment, withdrawing from the able to look at each man in turn. "No we shall do nothing."

This seemingly cold decision shocks Gunther and Soran, but you continue.

"These beings in the woods are a constant issue in our lands history, and you of all Soran should know that we pay homage not just to the nature gods during our spring celebrations, but also to the creatures that they have made."

Soran visibly relaxes, but begins to protest before Gunther interrupts;

"But my lord, what will we do come the winter?"

Looking at him with the pitying disdain of one who might see his pet wet itself in excitement, you address him;

"Is that all you think of? The winter? There are other concerns that must be addressed you know."

"If not this issue, what pressing matter calls your attention?"

"Conquest."

It is a hard word, one that speaks of blood shed, ****, and the destruction of families. There hadn't been a war in the kingdom since your father had warred with your neighbors to the east, to speak of it now seemed to rekindle old fires, and press old wounds open.

"What?" Is all Soran can master, struck dumb by your decision.

"And who are we to fight exactly?"

Well my lord? Who will you fight?
