When Riley offered you cut priced rent for a room, you had initially been hesitant, you liked the freedom that came with your cramp little apartment, but you humored him when he approached you and some others in your mutual friend group.

What Riley had failed to mention on his request, was the rooms he was attempting to rent out were bigger than your apartment, including on-suit facilities, most being part furnished and move in ready.
