Ross is getting emotional.

Ross raced across the campus and Erica and Andrew followed. He got to the math building and burst through the doors, sprinting down the hall towards Erica's office. When it became obvious that they wouldn't catch him in time, Erica stopped and put her hand across Andrew's chest.

"Let's see how this goes," she said. "It'll be better if the tech only sees him."

Eric reluctantly nodded and they sat quietly outside of the department door, straining to hear.

"What do you think you're doing?" Ross screamed as he barged in to the office. The technician now had his cock in Madison's right eye socket. Her eye was resting on the desk, slightly deflated. She wore a passive smile even as the tech jumped back and covered himself.

"What the fuck? What are you doing here?" the tech demanded. In response, Ross caught the man with a left hook that sent him sprawling.

"That's my girlfriend," Ross panted. Erica couldn't help but giggle a little at the melodrama and Andrew glared at her. "Get your dick out of her."

The tech stood and rubbed his cheek. "You fucking prick," he said. "You almost broke my jaw. What the fuck do you mean, that's your girlfriend?"

"I mean," Ross said angrily, "that I love her."

The technician looked at him, then at the smiling woman with one empty eyesocket on her knees. He burst into laughter until Ross threatened to punch him again, at which point he backed down.

"Look, I don't know what you think is going on here," the tech said. "But I can assure you that this is not your girlfriend. This is fucking golem, in case that wasn't obvious. It can't be a girlfriend."

As his anger slowly ebbed, Ross realized his mistake. He stammered for a second before he latched onto an idea.

"Well, whatever she is, I've got a recording of you ripping out her eye and fucking the socket."

The tech started to reply, but thought better of it. He looked over Ross, sizing him up, then at Madison.

"Ok, man," he said. His voice was suddenly reassuring and calm. "I think it's in both of our interests that no one knows exactly what's happening here. So why don't you go on your way and I'll clean up after myself, and we'll call it a night."

Ross eyed him suspiciously. "You're gonna report that something's wrong, though. It'll be your word against mine and you work for the company."

The tech nodded. "Son, you need to realize that you're between a rock and hard place. Having a little bit of fun like I was is discouraged, but they know that we all do it from time to time. Whatever you're doing here is tampering with a university golem, and that carries prison time. Shit, I'd be in a lot more trouble if I didn't report you and it came to light than if you turn me in. So yeah, you're kinda screwed here."

Ross sat down, suddenly dizzy. His vision was getting dark around the edges; he was having a severe panic attack. "But- but- but- I wanted, uhh..."

He couldn't get the words out; his mind was a maelstrom of terror and regret. The technician actually laughed at him.

"The good news is that her script checks out. Whatever you cooked up here, it might have actually worked if you hadn't showed up. Man, wait till the boys at the service center hear about this!"

Ross was crying now. In one week, his life had improved beyond his wildest dreams and now it was all falling apart. He thought he might pass out.

The technician put a hand on his shoulder. "Cheer up, pal," he sneered. "Maybe the judge will go easy on you."
