Period of Transition

After the new laws were ratified, the world entered a one year transition period, where individual institutions were allowed to adapt their dress codes accordingly in their own time. For example, the sleepy little mountain town of Stillbrook had decided that its female employees should wear only shoes, preferably high-heels, with optional gloves and jewelry within certain prescribed guidelines to avoid too much ostentation or gaudiness. In contrast, Stillbrook Community College allowed their female students to wear as much jewelry as they wanted in order not to quash their personal expression. However, female students at SCC were forbidden from wearing clothing of any kind or shoes while on campus. Though boots would be allowed in cases of **** weather like snow (but not rain), and there would be lockers provided in most buildings keyed to the student body card, as it was absolutely against the rules for female students not to be naked and barefoot during classes.

Florence Aberdeen, a student at SCC was mortified by the new dress code, trembling at the thought of being so **** and exposed in front of everyone! What was more, Florence's mother, Charlotte Aberdeen, the mayor of Stillbrook, had, in order to set a good example for the community, already taken all of Florence's clothes and shoes away! While her friends still had their normal clothes for at least five more months while not on campus or at work, Florence could only be completely nude now, no matter what.

In absolute abject depression, Florence groaned at her lot in life, clutching her pillow over her naked body, lying on her bare mattress, as her mother, frustrated that Florence had tried to make a wrap dress out of the sheets, had taken those away too until, she said, Florence "learned to behave like a proper, modern young lady."

The sound of the front door closing came to Florence's ears and she clutched her pillow more tightly, realizing her mother was home. "Florence? Are you home?" Her mother called up the stairs.

Florence actually laughed. Where would she go? she thought to herself. She was naked and barefoot, there was no way she was going outside!

"Yes, Mother!" she called down.

"Well come down here, please."

Florence made an exasperated noise she hoped her mother could hear and flung her long, athletic legs over the side of the undressed bed, her bare feet stinging as they touched the polished hardwood floor. Part of her brain that wasn't angry at her mother noted that she would need to get a rug or something for her room.

Clutching her pillow against her body with one arm, trying to cover her breasts and fuzzy brown bush, and held her other hand over her butt, fingers splayed so as to cover as much of it as possible. As she passed her bedroom mirror, she saw her shoulder length brown hair was a mess, tangled and frizzy as she had barely gotten out of bed or taken care of it over the last week, as she had hardly left her room and refused to go to classes. Her pale skin was flushed with embarrassed anxiety, her face contorted with humiliation.

She sighed and opened the door to the hallway, trying to steel herself for what was doubtlessly going to be another argument with her mother. Doing her best to cover the front of her bare body and holding her free hand over her bare butt, she padded down the hall and down the stairs.

She glared at her mother, who was standing before the closed front door.
