Kushina's face turned beet red with rage as Gentaro's apologetic words only seemed to enrage her further. "You're sorry?" she spat, her voice venomous. "You're sorry? You have no idea what you're even apologizing for, do you?" She took a step closer to Gentaro, her fists clenched at her sides.

Gentaro, still trying to placate her, held up his hands in a calming gesture. "Kushina, please, just listen to me..."

But Kushina was beyond reason. With a sudden burst of anger, she lashed out at Gentaro, slapping him across the face.

Gentaro's eyes widened in shock as Kushina's slap left a stinging sensation on his cheek. He stumbled backward, his mind reeling from the sudden attack. But as he looked into Kushina's furious eyes, he vaguely remembered the scroll and strange sensation he had felt the night before when he read it.
