Dinner time
As the mother disappeared into the hallway, Emily turned to Sarah, her voice barely above a whisper. "What just happened?" she asked, her eyes wide with confusion. Sarah shook her head, her face still pale from the shock of what they had just witnessed. "I don't know," she replied, her voice equally hushed. "But I think Mom just had some kind of accident." Emily's eyes darted towards the hallway, her brow furrowed with concern. "Do you think she's okay?" she asked, her voice laced with worry. Sarah nodded, but her expression was uncertain. "I think so," she said. "But what about Ms. Thompson? She was acting really weird."
The mother reached her bedroom, her legs shaking as she entered. She closed the door behind her, leaning against it for support. Her mind was racing, her thoughts a jumbled mess of embarrassment and confusion. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, and looked around the room.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Emily and Sarah were still in shock, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Sarah glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing that it was already past dinner time.
"Hey, Emily, it's getting late. We should probably start setting the table for dinner," Sarah suggested, breaking the silence.
