Reunion
The God of the End
Jeff rises to his feet, slightly wobbly and in a daze. He starts to fall to the right but Kim supports him, "Easy there, tough guy. You can't always expect to be on your feet when something this crazy happens." Jeff nods through gritted teeth from residual pain, eye's shut, "Enderlin....mother....what is...happening to me?..."
Enderlin continues to smile, her emerald eyes smiling in turn, "Your reaching maturity, Jeff. Being able to project me through your mind so others can see is a clear sign of maturity. Soon, you will be just like your mother; Dragonform, magical powers, that sort of stuff. Of course, it will be....rather painful."
As her words finish, Jeff lets out another roar, holding his right hand to his chest again. As everyone watches, he passes out and nearly takes Kim to the ground from the sudden weight shift. Enderlin's smile becomes a line, "He'll live but he'll be out for a couple days, no more than a week hopefully."
Kim gazes at her while gathering Jeff in her arms, "Hopefully?" Kim carries Jeff to the bed that he had vacated at full health a few days ago. She lays him down once again, concerned and worried. She turns back towards Enderlin, her voice edged, "What is specifically happening to him?" Enderlin floats towards her and stand at her side, looking down at Jeff, "He is facing the choice, Kim. To become a god's champion, a full one, the chosen must choose whole heartedly to serve their god. He has doubts from what happened in the End, the loss of his friends. In a way, he blames me for what transpired more than himself. He must now face his inner demons and lay them to rest...."
Kim heard the cut off from her words, "Or what?"
Enderlin looks at Kim, her expression grave, "Or he will die."
