Another Past

Jeff opens his eyes, disoriented and dizzy. He gazes at a roof of oak wood and feels a woolen bed beneath him, blankets of cotton over him. He looks around while laying, confused at where he was.

Wait...I know this place....

He isn't alone, and the realization pushes him out of bed into a sitting position at the bed's edge. An elderly man sits in a chair at the table in front of him, "It's about time you woke up, Jeff. I thought you would lay in bed for the entire day cycle."

It can't be.....Is it really....

"Elder Manias....what are you doing here?" Manias bursts into laughter before saying, "Well, I will note that as you just waking up. I'm here on your request, remember? You said you would go on that adventure tommorow. Well, it's tommorow now."

The elder rises from his seat, taking something out of his inventory. Jeff already knows what it is. Manias takes out the green, glassy orb, "This is-" Jeff cuts in, "The Eye of Ender, a device that will guide me to the End." Manias is taken aback, "Yes...that's correct...how do you know that already?"

Jeff realizes that he is in an old memory and the pains of the past were about to repeat themselves.
