The days following the attack blurred together, with Noah and Olivia settling into a fragile routine. Their fortified house on the edge of town had become their haven, a bubble of precarious safety in a world that had gone to hell. Every morning, Noah would gear up and head out for supply runs while Olivia stayed back, tending to the garden, checking their meager rations, and keeping their refuge livable.
They knew that if they wanted to survive another horde like that, they would have to strengthen their defenses.
