The Relationship
Winning a wife.
Chapter 1
by ChickLit1987
Author notes:
I have currently finished the initial version of the prologue. This is the chapters leading up to the first dates. I would like reader input on the date chapters themselves, as I am not sure how many options I should give the user.
Do you want to choose from a lot of questions John can ask his dates, just a few questions, or only read preset questions?
Please note the Date chapters are currently not finished, and are marked "UNDER CONSTRUCTION".
I am hoping this story will eventually be over a thousand chapters long, and have ten characters John can date (though, I'm starting with five).
Please comment with any suggestions.
1. WARNING: At present in America, and many (if not all) countries allied to America, heterosexual romantic relationships are very dangerous, especially for men. Please be very careful if you choose to have a romantic relationship in real life. If it goes bad, it could destroy your life.
2. There will be no early sex scenes in this story. Those will come later. However, there is poetry (original poetry written by me, unless otherwise stated) spread widely throughout (though not every single chapter).
3. This story is being written in the hope that it will be enjoyable but (obviously) without any warranty.
PLEASE: Mention any spelling, grammar, or variable errors you encounter in the comments.
Opening poem:
Oh you who read this book
Ye dare not call it porn
My twists of plot will create such a hook
To shreds - your criticisms will be torn!
Then call this work a romance
Sailing on the seas
Of stories which, by design, or chance
Many may choose to read
Expect to find here love.
purest of the heart
Expect also shoves
Of passion, that can unite, or part
Look for great themes of lust
Most wild, and free
Will you honour trust - or commit acts most unjust?
Will you appreciate art- or use it to control those who don't agree?
To give you the power to rule them
And bring them to their knees!
John sighed, as he looked at his matches on Cinder. The dating website listed plenty of women. But that wasn’t the problem.
Like most young men, John didn’t know what to say to hold a woman’s interest. He’d never been one for superficial smalltalk, preferring instead, to ponder deeper meaning.
But John had one thing going for him. He was a poet. True, he hadn’t written much love poetry, but he was confident that he could figure it out.
As he browsed the website a few matches stuck out to John.
Whose profile does John click on?
A Man wants to get a girlfriend, settle down, and get hitched. How will he go about doing this?
