Chapter 35

What's next?
Charlotte Shenanigans
The polished door of the sorority house loomed before you, casting an almost menacing shadow as you stood on the threshold. With your heart hammering, you took a breath, steeling yourself for the role you had to play, the persona you had to pull off. You raised your hand, hesitated for a split second, then knocked three times.
The door swung open almost immediately, and Michelle was standing there, arms crossed, eyes gleaming with that air of scrutiny she always seemed to wear.
“Well, look who made it,” she said with a small smirk, sizing you up with a once-over that had you fidgeting before you could stop yourself.
“Hi, Michelle!” you said, pitching your voice up a little too much in an attempt to sound breezy and carefree. “I, um, hope I didn’t keep you waiting.”
“Right on time,” she replied, nodding approvingly before stepping back to let you in.
The house smelled faintly of expensive perfume and vanilla candles. Its plush interior was filled with the kind of chic decor you’d expect from a high-end catalog, making you feel instantly out of place. But as you took a few hesitant steps inside, you reminded yourself that Luna would never let that show. She’d walk in like she owned the place.
You held your head high, trying to channel that energy, every step measured to feel both graceful and confident as Michelle led you down a hallway and into a spacious living area. It was decorated with string lights, a huge sectional sofa, and a handful of sorority girls who seemed to be deep in conversation.
And sitting in the center of it all, with a casual air that bordered on regal, was Charlotte.
Michelle gave a small wave, and Charlotte looked up, a warm smile spreading across her face as her gaze met yours.
“This is our latest prospective recruit,” Michelle said, gesturing toward Charlotte with a hint of pride in her voice. “And I thought it’d be good for us to all meet.” She turned to you with an almost approving nod.
“Oh, thank you so much for helping me get in touch,” Charlotte said, rising from the sofa with a grace that you couldn’t help but envy. She extended a hand, and you took it, realizing that she was one of those people who naturally commanded attention with ease.
Charlotte looked impeccable, her makeup flawless and her outfit exuding effortless style. Next to her, you felt like an imposter, like someone playing dress-up and hoping no one noticed.
“So, Luna,” Charlotte said as she sat back down, gesturing for you to join her, “Michelle tells me you’ve been around the house before. Do you like it here?”
“Oh, totally!” you replied, hoping your enthusiasm didn’t sound too ****. “I mean, what’s not to like? It’s… so warm and welcoming.”
Charlotte tilted her head slightly, watching you with a curious, almost playful look. “Warm and welcoming, huh?” she repeated, a faint hint of amusement in her tone. “That’s not how most people describe a sorority, but… I like that perspective.”
You smiled, fighting to keep your voice steady, your manner smooth. “Well, I guess it’s the, um… the sisterhood, right?” You could feel your palms starting to sweat as you spoke, the words sounding foreign even as you **** them out.
Michelle raised an eyebrow at you from where she stood off to the side, arms still crossed, and you could tell she was analyzing every word, every movement. She had a way of making you feel like you were being graded. But if she sensed your nerves, she didn’t comment. Instead, she threw Charlotte a smile that seemed almost… smug.
“Luna is one of the surprise girls we got around lately, through our mutual friend Ashley,” Michelle said, her tone both firm and complimentary. “She’s got a certain… spark to her, wouldn’t you say?”
You felt your face flush at the compliment, knowing full well it was meant as a test. But you **** yourself to smile and nod, replying with a confident, “Thank you, Michelle. I’m just glad to be part of all this.”
Charlotte’s eyes twinkled with a touch of mischief. “That’s so cute,” she said with a light laugh, leaning back as if sizing you up. “I mean, it’s always great to meet people who genuinely care about all this.” She waved her hand, gesturing to the house, the atmosphere, everything. “What’s been your favorite part so far?”
“Oh, um…” You fumbled for a moment, trying to keep Luna’s persona intact while your mind raced. What would a girl say? “I think… just getting to know everyone, honestly. It’s really special, you know, connecting with so many amazing women.”
Charlotte nodded, clearly pleased with your answer. But just as you were about to relax, you felt yourself slipping, something casual but awkward slipping out before you could stop it.
“Yeah, it’s… it’s nice, you know? Like… um… really nice,” you stammered, your voice suddenly dropping into your usual tone.
You froze, feeling the blood drain from your face as Michelle’s sharp gaze flicked over to you, catching the slip instantly. Charlotte’s smile tightened ever so slightly, and you **** yourself to swallow, scrambling to cover.
“I just mean… it’s incredible to be around so many driven women,” you said quickly, trying to smooth over the mistake. “It’s… really inspiring.”
Michelle’s expression relaxed, and Charlotte gave you a small, understanding smile, as if she hadn’t noticed the blip—or was willing to overlook it. You let out a small, silent sigh of relief and **** yourself to keep smiling, trying to recapture Luna’s confident energy before you lost it again.
Michelle, always the overseer, seemed satisfied with your recovery and cleared her throat. “Anyway,” she said, looking between you and Charlotte, “I’ll let you two chat a bit more. Charlotte, Luna here has been around our girls enough to give you an idea of all the good stuff.” She glanced at you, her gaze steely but approving. “Keep things casual, though. Just a friendly chat while I get the next bit ready.”
“Got it!” you said, maybe a bit too brightly, as Michelle turned and walked off, leaving you alone with Charlotte.
Charlotte watched Michelle leave, then looked back at you, her gaze softening slightly. “So, tell me the truth,” she said, leaning in a bit conspiratorially. “Is she as intimidating as she seems?”
You laughed, though it came out more like a nervous chuckle. “Maybe a little,” you admitted, letting a bit of your usual self slip through. “But she’s… she’s got everyone’s best interests at heart, I think?”
Charlotte nodded, looking amused but not unkind. “Well, I suppose if she’s keeping an eye on me, it can’t be all bad,” she replied. “Thanks for the reassurance, though.”
She leaned back, her smile warm and inviting, and you felt yourself relaxing, a bit of your anxiety ebbing away. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all, you thought—if you could keep up the act just a little longer.
With Charlotte’s gaze upon you, you felt the pressure mount. The comfortable atmosphere suddenly felt loaded, every word you spoke carrying weight, and the realization hit you that you had to keep the act going. Channeling your inner Luna was crucial, but the slightest misstep could send everything spiraling.
“So,” Charlotte began, her voice smooth and friendly, “Michelle mentioned you’ve been around the sorority quite a bit. What’s your experience been like so far?” She leaned in slightly, interest evident in her eyes.
You took a deep breath, mentally scrambling to construct your response. “Well, I’m actually not in the sorority,” you started, trying to keep your tone light and breezy. “I’m just a friend of Michelle’s and… um, Ashley too. You know Ashley?”
Charlotte nodded, her expression shifting to one of recognition. “Oh, I know her! She’s super fun. Always brings a good vibe to the parties. So, you’ve been to a few, then?”
“Yeah, exactly! I went to one of the parties a while back, and it was, um… quite an experience,” you said, forcing a laugh. “I didn’t expect everyone to be so friendly and welcoming.”
Charlotte smiled, and for a moment, you relaxed. “It can be a bit intimidating at first, but we’re all just girls trying to have a good time. What did you think of the party atmosphere?”
You hesitated, knowing you needed to maintain Luna’s confidence while trying to capture the genuine enjoyment you experienced. “Honestly, it was… really great. I was surprised by how open everyone was. It felt like, um, being part of a big family, in a way. Everyone was just so... lively and inclusive,” you said, trying to paint a picture that matched Charlotte’s warmth.
“I think that’s one of the best parts,” she said, nodding in agreement. “The friendships you make here can last a lifetime.”
“Yeah, definitely!” you replied, your enthusiasm bubbling over. “I mean, I’ve only been around for a little while, but I’ve already met so many interesting people. Like, just hanging out with Michelle and the others is always a blast. They’re just… they’re so real, you know?”
Charlotte’s eyes sparkled with interest. “That’s awesome to hear. Michelle has a way of bringing people together, doesn’t she? Did you have a favorite moment from the party?”
You felt a slight flush creep up your cheeks, remembering the thrill of the night, and how it actually went. “Um, I guess just dancing and chatting with everyone. It was fun just letting loose. And the music was so good!”
“Dancing is the best part,” Charlotte agreed, leaning back slightly. “Do you dance often?”
You bit your lip, almost giving in to honesty, but caught yourself just in time. “Oh, you know, I just try to join in when I can. I’m no professional or anything,” you said with a laugh, masking the slight embarrassment bubbling within.
“Hey, that’s all that matters! It’s about having fun,” she encouraged, her smile reassuring. “What about the girls? Did you get along with everyone?”
“Well, I really clicked with Ashley,” you said, hoping it would steer the conversation away from potential scrutiny. “She was really sweet to me and made me feel welcome. It was like we were instant friends.”
Charlotte leaned in closer, curiosity evident in her expression. “That’s great! So, it sounds like you really hit it off then?”
“Yeah, kind of!” you replied, forcing a casual smile. “We spent some time chatting, and she’s just so easy to talk to. I think she’s actually one of the ones who really helped me get to know everyone.”
A slight silence stretched between you, and for a moment, you thought you could feel Charlotte assessing you, trying to gauge how much of your enthusiasm was genuine versus how much was performance.
“Do you think you’d want to join, then?” Charlotte asked, tilting her head thoughtfully. “I mean, being a part of the sisterhood?”
You faltered for a second, the thought sending a jolt of panic through you. “Um, I don’t know,” you replied, forcing a laugh that felt a little strained. “I mean, it’s a big commitment, right? I guess I’m just trying to figure everything out.”
Charlotte nodded, but her eyes didn’t lose their spark of interest. “Totally understandable. It’s not for everyone, and there’s a lot to think about. But I think you’d fit in well, especially if you keep hanging around.”
You felt a knot form in your stomach. What if she saw through your facade? What if she found out you weren’t actually interested in all this? “Thanks! I mean, I appreciate that,” you said quickly, scrambling to sound sincere. “It’s just that… I’m still getting used to everything.”
Charlotte leaned back, the tension easing a bit. “Well, if you ever need someone to help you navigate all of this, I’d be happy to lend a hand. I know what it’s like to feel like you’re in over your head.”
“Really?” you asked, genuinely surprised by her offer. “That would be amazing, actually!”
“Sure!” she replied, her smile brightening. “Just shoot me a message anytime. I’d love to help.”
“Have you met many of the other sisters?” Charlotte asked, her interest renewed.
You nodded, trying to draw on whatever knowledge you had from hanging around. “Yeah, a few. They seem really nice! I mean, I haven’t had the chance to connect with everyone, but I definitely want to.” You offered her a grin, pushing the anxiety aside. “I’ve heard some of them are super fun at parties.”
Charlotte’s laughter rang out, warm and infectious. “Oh, they are! Just wait until you see our next event—it’s going to be a blast.”
As you chatted back and forth, you tried your hardest to keep the Luna act alive, even as the internal panic simmered beneath the surface. But with every laugh, every smile from Charlotte, you found yourself gradually relaxing, if only for a moment.
Just as you were beginning to relax in your conversation with Charlotte, the door swung open, and Michelle strolled in, her presence commanding the room. With her long, sleek hair cascading down her shoulders and a confident smirk plastered on her face, she radiated a magnetic energy that drew everyone’s attention. Your stomach twisted with nerves, the familiar pressure of maintaining your Luna persona intensifying as she sauntered over.
“Hey, ladies! What’s the scoop?” Michelle asked, taking a seat next to you, her tone casual yet laced with an underlying intensity.
Charlotte smiled warmly, clearly excited to impress. “I was just getting to know—”
“Great, great,” Michelle interrupted, her eyes narrowing slightly. “But let’s skip the pleasantries. I want to know the real you, Charlotte. What makes you tick?”
You swallowed hard, the tension in the air thickening. Michelle had a way of digging deep, and you felt the weight of her gaze. You fidgeted slightly in your seat, desperately trying to keep your composure while maintaining the Luna act.
Charlotte, undeterred, leaned forward. “Well, I guess I’m just really passionate about the things I enjoy. I love hanging out with friends and having fun. Parties are definitely my scene!”
“Fun is good,” Michelle nodded, a smirk playing on her lips. “But how about in the bedroom? What’s your, uh, vibe like?”
You felt your heart race, the question catching you off guard. You could see Charlotte’s cheeks flush as she chuckled nervously. “Um, well, I like to think I’m pretty open-minded? I’m all about exploring and enjoying life. You know how it is at parties—things can get a little wild.”
“Wild, huh?” Michelle’s gaze sharpened, her interest piqued. “So, how wild are we talking? Do you enjoy being the center of attention or, say, being a little more submissive?”
Charlotte hesitated, clearly trying to gauge how much to share. “I think it depends on the situation, really. I enjoy both sides. It’s fun to let loose and, like, just go for it sometimes.”
You felt the heat rise in your cheeks, trying to keep the conversation flowing while not revealing too much about yourself. “Yeah, I think balance is key, right?” you chimed in, trying to sound casual while internally panicking.
“Exactly!” Charlotte agreed, looking grateful for your support. “It’s all about the chemistry with the person, I guess.”
Michelle’s eyes glinted with intrigue. “And what about your experiences? Any memorable hookups you’d like to share? I want to know how comfortable you are with yourself and the fun you like to have.”
You bit your lip, a wave of nervousness crashing over you. The pressure to maintain the Luna persona was mounting, but you couldn’t allow yourself to slip. “Well, I’ve had my fair share of fun moments,” Charlotte admitted, a coy smile creeping onto her face. “Nothing too crazy, but definitely some nights I won’t forget!”
“Good, good,” Michelle purred, leaning in closer. “And what’s your type? Are you into bad boys, sweethearts, or the more adventurous types?”
“I think I like a mix, honestly,” Charlotte replied, her confidence growing as the conversation continued. “There’s something appealing about a guy who can switch it up—be sweet one moment and then totally wild the next.”
“Interesting!” Michelle mused, her tone dripping with curiosity. “So you like a challenge? Someone who knows how to push your buttons?”
“Definitely!” Charlotte laughed, and you felt a strange sense of camaraderie form between the two of them.
You wanted to join in, but the conversation felt dangerously close to crossing into territory you weren’t sure you could navigate. “Yeah, I think everyone likes a little thrill now and then,” you managed to say, hoping it would keep the focus away from you.
Michelle turned her attention back to you, her expression assessing. “What about you, Luna? What are your thoughts on all this?”
You froze for a split second, the pressure of the moment squeezing your chest. “Oh, um… I think it’s all about having fun and being confident in what you want,” you said quickly, trying to maintain your smile despite the rising tension. “Life is too short to hold back, right?”
Michelle raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile tugging at her lips. “You’ve got that right. But let’s be real. What’s your ideal scenario when it comes to that ‘fun’? Are you a flirt? Do you enjoy a little chase?”
You felt yourself blushing. “Well, I’m more of a flirty person, I guess?” you said, your voice shaky as you fought to keep the facade going. “It’s always fun to have a little playful banter and see where it goes.”
“Playful banter?” Michelle repeated, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes. “I like that. But what about when things heat up? Are you ready to handle that? I mean, how far are you willing to go?”
Your heart raced, the implications of her question weighing heavily on you. “I think it depends on the vibe and who I’m with,” you said, carefully choosing your words. “But I’m open to seeing where things lead, you know?”
Charlotte seemed to pick up on your unease and jumped in. “Yeah, it’s all about comfort, right? You’ve got to feel secure in what you’re doing.”
Michelle nodded, her gaze shifting between you and Charlotte. “Exactly. But there’s also something exciting about pushing boundaries, isn’t there? Exploring what you want and who you really are.”
You felt like the walls were closing in. Every word seemed to slice deeper into your carefully constructed facade. “Definitely,” you replied, trying to sound confident, though you could feel your palms start to sweat. “But sometimes, it’s hard to know when to take that leap.”
“You’ve got to embrace it, babe!” Michelle said, her voice dropping slightly, more seductive now. “You can’t hold back, especially in this sorority. We’re all about living life to the fullest.”
In that moment, surrounded by Michelle’s commanding presence and Charlotte’s growing excitement, you couldn’t shake the feeling that the real test was just beginning. You would have to navigate this world with caution, juggling your true self and the persona you had crafted, all while trying to keep the secrets from surfacing.
After the interrogation, the atmosphere in the room shifted subtly, almost charged with unspoken expectations. Michelle leaned closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper as she assessed the situation. “Hey, can I talk to you for a sec?”
You nodded, your heart racing as you followed her to a quieter corner of the room, the walls almost closing in as the reality of what she might say dawned on you. The low murmur of conversation faded into the background, and you focused on her piercing gaze.
“There’s a guy upstairs who needs… attention,” Michelle said, her tone suggestive. “And honestly, there are no inner circle girls around right now. It’s just you and me. I need you to help me out.”
Your stomach dropped. The idea of being with a guy in any context, let alone a sexual one, sent waves of panic coursing through your veins. You could feel your cheeks burning, your mind racing with images of the possible scenarios that could unfold. “Uh, I don’t think I can do that,” you stammered, desperately trying to keep your voice steady.
“Why not?” Michelle pressed, a mix of curiosity and challenge in her eyes. “You're gonna be a prude now, Luna?”
“I really can’t…” you faltered, your heart pounding at the thought of being in a room alone with a guy, especially in that context. You swallowed hard, trying to think of a way out. “What about Charlotte? She seems like she’d be up for it. I’m sure she could handle him just fine.”
Michelle raised an eyebrow, considering your suggestion. “Charlotte?” she repeated, the name hanging in the air. “You really think she’d go for it?”
“Yeah, why not?” you said quickly, grasping at straws. “She’s… cute. She’d definitely be able to… um, take care of him.”
Michelle looked skeptical, crossing her arms as she studied you. “You’re not just trying to get out of this, are you? Because if Charlotte’s not down for it, I’m gonna need you to step up.”
You felt a knot tighten in your stomach. “I’m on my period,” you blurted out, the excuse tumbling out before you could think twice. “I can’t… you know, do anything right now.”
Michelle’s expression shifted slightly, a mixture of doubt and contemplation crossing her face. “You really think that’s gonna fly?” she asked, her voice low. “What makes you so sure Charlotte would even be interested? I mean, I just met her. What do you know about her?”
You took a breath, your mind racing as you assessed Charlotte. “Well, she seems fun. She’s definitely cute,” you said, trying to focus on anything that might help your case. “And we were talking about being open-minded earlier, right? She might surprise you.”
Michelle narrowed her eyes, still skeptical. “Alright, but I’m not convinced. Let’s take a closer look.” She gestured toward Charlotte, who was chatting animatedly with a few other girls across the room.
You followed her gaze, trying to analyze Charlotte without being obvious. “Okay, what do you think?” Michelle whispered as you both assessed her.
“Her body’s definitely nice,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper. “I mean, her curves are pretty killer. She’s got a nice waist and—”
“Yeah, and those tits,” Michelle interjected, a smirk creeping onto her face. “They’re not huge, but they definitely look nice in that top. I bet they’re soft.”
You felt a heat rise in your cheeks as you tried to focus on the conversation without thinking too hard about the implications of what you were discussing. “And her ass… it’s nice,” you said, glancing back at Charlotte, who was laughing. “I mean, it’s not like super big, but it’s cute.”
Michelle nodded slowly, her expression shifting as she contemplated Charlotte’s assets. “True. She definitely has the look, but what about her personality? Do you think she’s down to be a little adventurous?”
You hesitated, the earlier conversation with Charlotte echoing in your mind. “I mean, she seemed open to the idea of having fun. But… I don’t know if she’s, like, a slutty girl or anything,” you admitted, trying to keep your tone light while feeling the pressure of the moment.
“Exactly,” Michelle said, leaning closer. “And that’s the problem. You know how it is with guys like that. They want someone who’s all in, and I don’t know if Charlotte is that girl.”
You sighed, the weight of the situation pressing down on you. “I just… I don’t think I can do this tonight,” you confessed, your voice dropping to a whisper.
Michelle studied you for a moment, her expression softening slightly. “Look, I get it. But sometimes you’ve got to take one for the team, you know? This could be another chance to prove yourself.”
You felt a pang of desperation. “But what if Charlotte is actually into it? What if she wants to go?”
“Then that's the plan,” Michelle said, her tone firm. “I really think you should be the one to ask her. Who knows? She might surprise us both.”
You nodded reluctantly, feeling the pressure mount. “Okay, fine. I’ll talk to her."
I really hope she’s down for it. I’m not sure I can handle the alternative.
