Round 2

After Mj got dolled up for another meeting with Katzenberg, she felt very unprotected with no bra or panties covering her private bits. As she stood in her bedroom, she twisted and turned in front of her long mirror. She slid her hands down her belly and enjoyed how beautiful she was. Once again, Nick decided to meet at another hip and trendy restaurant. Another expensive dining venue that she and Peter could never afford.

Katzenberg was already waiting for Mary Jane at a back booth in the dark-lit bistro.

MJ walked in with a tight, short, black dress, strappy black heels on her feet. As she approached the table, Nick got up and ushered her inside the booth. He trapped her quickest exit out of the restaurant.

"First thing first. Did you do as I asked?"

Katzenberg leered at MJ sitting next to him in the booth.

"Yes," she began before lowering her voice, "No bra. No panties."

"Well..... show me," he said grinning.

"What now? Here?"

"You show me now, or we go to the bathroom together and I find out out with my tongue."

He rolled his tongue back and forth past his lips.

Mary Jane declined but was weirded out by his question.

"No. I don't smoke anymore. Not sure if you've heard Katzenberg, but they cause cancer," she said with a smirk. She did smoke in the past, and to be honest could use one right about now. She had to be strong and stick to her guns. "....And what do you mean 'as well'? Are you implying Peter has made me quit other things?" She asked with an incredulous look on her face.

Katzenberg smiled and exhaled a big puff cloud.

"Look... me and Parker have had our issues when I was still struggling full time at the Bugle. Yeah, that's true."

He ashed his smoke out a bit staring directly at MJ next to him.

"But what he did to you was worse than what he did to me... I mean boarder line criminal."

Mary Jane was flabbergasted, "What do you mean? He's my husband. I love him... obviously. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here... with you of all people."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah... love him... But look at you Red... You're a super model, a star... and yet you hide, stopped modelling, and live in poverty...everything for Spider-Man. What a joke."

MJ was pissed now, "What do you know about it? It wasn't for Spider-Man that I gave that up... it was for Peter... because he's my husband... and... and.. I love him."

"Hunh? Thats a lot different than what I thought marriage was supposed to be... You gave up being you for Peter... who couldn't handle having a famous, beautiful star for a wife... otherwise Spider-Man would be an issue... yeah.. I get it," Katzenberg finished as he put out his smoke and sipped his champagne.

"No...no...that's not...that's not the way it went..," MJ tried to explain.

"Look... I'm a professional photographer...I shoot high profile fashion mags, agent models, obviously...I'm making money," he said as he stretched out, " but Parker was never a good photographer... just got pics because of who he is... and he'll never make more than the nickels J Jonah Jamison decides to give him."

Nick grabbed MJ's hands. She was stunned as he continued, "You though.... You can do better.... with modelling... with money... and with me." His eyebrows raised suggestively.

MJ pulled her hands away from Katzenberg. She would argue with him but... he was kind of right. She downed her flute of champagne and was immediately refilled by Katzenberg.

Mary Jane and Peter always argued over money, where they lived, her job opportunities, his job as well. Throw in Spider-Man and those responsibilities.... Mary Jane sometimes did feel like what Katzenberg was saying was true.

"Let me follow up that question with another one. Maybe you can explain this to me? You're married to him. What kind of person would put a beautiful specimen of a female like you in harm's way like he does? Have you ever been targeted because of who he is?"

She had.

Plus, in danger from various other criminals and mystic beings.

Was it fair that she was a part of any of that?

Katzenberg reached out for MJ 's hands again, he already knew the answer "... of course you have. Look Red... Mary Jane....I could make you a star again... Imagine it... back on the cover of Cosmopolitan where you belong."

Mary Jane drank down her champagne again.

"Otherwise, you go back into hiding... married to Spider-Man... but what's that for you hun? Long lonely nights and a man without any money.... You don't deserve that."

"You don't know what I deserve Katzenberg," MJ said as she pulled her hands away again.

She dismissed him, but something about what he said did ring true.
