Returning Home To Where One Of The Ladies Is Eagerly Waiting

Walter crept into the house and set the painting down by the door. This late, or early actually, it was oddly quiet. Most of the residents were asleep and most of the early risers hadn't yet begun to stir.

And that made him smile. In such a short time the formerly mainly empty house had become a bustling home. It had shaken off and gladly left behind it's previous gloom as a thing of the past. Now it was bursting with the energy and lively lives of it's many occupants giving it a warm, comforting feeling. And it was mainly all thanks too-

"Saaal~"

Walt blinked as the silence was interupted but his face was already splitting into a grin as he heard and echoed what was becoming one of his favorite greetings. "Sal..."

"Youuu~"

He saw Penny coming towards him from above at great speed using her power to dive bomb him from above over the railing in the great room with a beaming smile on her face matching his own. He spread his arms wide to catch her. "You..."

"-Tations!" They said together as she leapt into his arms. He caught her and spun around with her in his arms negating some of the force of the impact. It was a good thing he was the size he was as otherwise the flying hug would be quite a tackle indeed. They both laughed before happily kissing as he set her down on her tiptoes.

"Welcome home," Penny said when they parted, smiling up at him her arms around his neck and green eyes full of happiness.

"Thank you," he said tenderly brushing a strand of her copper hair from her lovely face. "It's good to be home! What are you doing up my love?"

"Friday informed me of your imminent return," she said. "So how was the date?" She asked barely keeping her excitement and curiosity contained.

Walt chuckled. Other girls in the past, or even today in other groups for that matter, might be jealous or insecure. Not Penny. She was simply curious, excited and happy. She exemplified the principle of "Sharing is caring" and helped instill that quality in others. "Good. Really good infact. We even talked about the prospect of Carrie meeting all of you and she seems genuinely interested in it."

"Sensational!" Penny declared happily before adding excitedly, "I can hardly wait! We can paint our nails, try on clothes and talk about you, the man that we love! I can hardly wait! How about tomorrow?"

"Eheheh," Walt chuckled amused at her reaction. "Tomorrow might be asking for a lot. Her work with the PWBI keeps her pretty busy but she did express an interest in doing it sometime soon."

"Very well," Penny said not at all dejected and quite happily satisfied with that answer. "We really must figure out away for you to aquire her for yourself so that she can live here!"

Walt was surprised. "Penny! I can't just "steal" a government asset!" He saw her tilt her head questioningly. "Ok, technically I could do exactly that but it would require a fair bit of resources and planning..." he saw her still giving him that look and added hastily. "Oh! Uh, and it would also be "wrong" and potentially cause a lot of trouble."

Penny giggled. "That is true! Stealing is generally wrong. But!"

"But?" Walt asked surprised.

"But," Penny said nodding. "There ARE instances where not doing the technically "wrong thing" is a greater wrong itself." She let go of him to hold up the index finger on both of her hands and, using her power, a tiny green flame like one one find a top a candle sprang into existence. "Keeping two people apart who truly love one another simply because the law say so would be one example. It is wrong." She brought the two fingers together so the flames could merge into one. "They should be together." Then she opened her hands so she had one big green hued flame dancing and beamed. "Even more so because she belongs with all of us! She should be here! A part of this family! Do you understand?"

Walt smiled and leaned forward to kiss her. "I do." He took her hands after she dismissed the flames. The air around her was somewhat cool and crisp from using her Winter Maiden power but her deceptively delicate appearing hands were both strong and warm. "I understand and find I quite agree. How long have you thought...felt like this?"

Penny smiled and leaned against his chest. "More and more recently. You and Neo and Pyrrha and everyone else... I have been exposed to so many people's ideas and beliefs. Especially so called "villains" but it is good. It challenges what I know, shows me different ways to see and think about things. Even if I do not understand, it helps me grow. As a person." She smiled but it was somewhat tinged by sadness. "It's just like you and Ruby both said. We all have to decide for ourselves. That's the only real freedom there is."

Walt nodded and hugged her close in his arms, kissing the top of her head. "Yup. Don't worry... We will find her. Believe it."

She nodded. "I do. With all my heart. I know we will. I just... I have this feeling sometimes. It is hard to explain. Like... a tension inside that gives a nervous energy. Like when I see you or others I care about in danger or trouble... but different."

Walt stroked her hair. "Worry. You're worried for your friend. That's perfectly normal. You're not alone. We're all worried about her with you. It's only natural to worry about the unknown a bit. Especially for our loved ones sakes."

Penny smiled. "Worried. Yes. Thank you, Walter. I am worried about her... and I do love her. I adore Ruby! She was my first friend!"

He squeezed her reassuringly. "We will find her. I promise not to stop until we do and bring her and all your friends home my love."

"Thank you," Penny said squeezing him back. She loved hugs. "I know you will... And when you do I know Ruby will love it here and you!"

He blinked. "Oh! I uh, Thanks but I don't know about that Penny-"

"I do," she said. "I want her to experience the same love and happiness as I have." She nodded. "It does not have to be with you and I specifically, though I admit that I would like that. Oh!" She reached down to run her hand over the front of his pants. "And I see you would too?!"

"I, uh... Well," he cleared his throat. "That is more just a natural reaction to your presence than anything... but," he swallowed. "I'll admit that he idea of you and her together is titillating just like you and the others is."

Penny smiled rubbing his crotch. "That makes me happy to hear it! I hope it works out that way, I think you would be good for her, but Ruby needs love. Maybe not physically but emotionally. She needs the support of those around her. She has been under a lot of pressure for a longtime now. The burden of leadership. The expectations of others. Even I could tell in Atlas. That strain? It is catching up to her. Ruby is not a machine like I am- was. She is a person. An exceptional one but still only a singular person. When machines break, they get fixed. But when people break they have to heal." She smiled. "Or so I've learned. I'm learning more and more about being a person and how to care for them from you. And I think... No. I know Ruby will need love and caring for, no matter what her experiences since leaving Remnant might be."

Walt kissed her forehead. "You're becoming very wise."

Penny shook her head. "I do not know about that. What I do know is that I want the very best for her... and that is you!" She smiled up at him still rubbing his hard on. "I want the same for you too! Shall I take care of this for you? I am surprised Carrie let you return so unsatisfied! Or... was it just too much for her? Either way I'd be extremely happy to help!"

Walt chuckled. "Not quite. Infact I'm surprised. I really do think you ladies have either pushed me to a new level or changed my baseline. I have to let Friday run some tests... and speaking of Carrie and I had some company. A Princess Witch and her Princess Knight."

"Oh! How wonderful!" Penny said excitedly. "So? Do we all get to meet them and when are they coming home?"

Walt chuckled again. "It's not like that... Well not exactly anyway. And we can't just bring every Character home with us you know?"

"Why not?" She asked still stroking him through his pants. "And can I please take care of this now?"

Walt blinked. Sometimes he wondered if Penny was specifically trying to make things harder than they were. He didn't think so, or at least not on purpose or intentionally, but he'd be dammed if sometimes her fuzzy logic and ability to be distractingly sexy didn't make it hard to think! "Uhm... If we just brought home Characters willy-nilly eventually even we would start to run out of space. Besides I'm not sure how we would schedule out things if we literally had a mountain of ladies for me to take care of? That doesn't sound enjoyable. I wouldn't be happy if I couldn't see you or the others as often as I wanted to you know. In the end I'm just like Ruby, remember? Only a singlular person?"

"Hmmm," Penny hummed thoughtfully. "I don't know about that... I feel certain that you could do it if you really tried. You would find a way!"

He rolled his eyes but chuckled again. "Thanks for the vote of confidence but let's not find out if we don't have too or at least not for awhile. Better slow steady progress of expanding one's abilities and limits, right?"

Penny sighed. "I suppose you are correct and you do make a good point. I and the others would miss you... And I know how you like to downplay your exceptional qualities."

"I don't know about that last part exactly but you're right none the less," he said glad she saw reason. "Anyway speaking of testing and cutting a long story short I have a potion from that witch to test and might still be under it's effects... and speaking of testing as much as I'd like to... *Ahem* "Relieve my stiffness", especially with you my dear, I'd like to wait on that a bit for later as I have something to test with you as well if you're so inclined? A surprise of sorts!"

Now Penny blinked in surprise but rather than be disappointed at waiting she was thrilled for both "later" and that he'd been- "Really? You've been working on another prototype of something and it's related to me? I am very flattered and I would be overjoyed to assist!"

Walt nodded. "Of course! You are always on my mind I'll have you know! Let me run down to the lab and back?"

"Alright, after... but I could not just come with you," Penny said.

Walt smiled and gave her a wink. "Nah. It's better this way. Trust me! Actually wait for me outside for just a few minutes would you?"

"Affirmative!" She quickly agreed heading outside as Walt ran down to the lab in a rush. "Friday are they ready?"

"Whooo?" T3-M4 whistled/Asked as he rushed past the droids.

"Reply," Said HK-47. "Negative. Sadly there is no indicator of battle. Master is merely excited. Though why getting excited over upgrades for meatbag-Penny instead of the prospect of returning her to her more advanced and obviously superior synthetic self is baffling my logic processor." The Assassin Droid somehow managed to sound both disappointed and perplexed in its tone.

"Blat," T3-M4 made a harsh low sound. The utility Droid thought it was obvious that it was "love"... and that HK-47 was a fool.

"Statement," HK-47 said. "How rude... and revolting. I would disassemble you to find your fault in your etiquette routines but as usual Master has standing orders forbidding it... for now. *Heavy Synthetic Sigh* Unfortunately you're likely correct. As great and superior as Master is, he is still just a meatbag. First Bastila now all these others. Disgusting how meatbags fornicate. At least they aren't yet producing disgusting meatbag offspring!"

"Beep-Whistle," T3-M4 said amused. "Yet" was the keyword in that statement. With how much mating Master and Penny were getting in it was only a matter of time... and he couldn't wait. Children would be so fun... and even better annoy his fellow Droid to no end!

(("The "Find a Penny, Pick it up" Project? The green and black paint job on the boots and gloves just finished drying. The base prototype is ready as is the interfacing to the Mk 32 Scouter and 3SIODM system."))

Walt quickly stepped into his Iron Shadow suit and grabbed the items in question from the lab. "Thanks, Fri! You're the best! Commencing trail run. Drones on standby, please."

(("Of course, Boss.")) FRIDAY said as he ran back up the stairs and dispatched drones 551 through 600 and ED-E the Duraframe Eyebot to the area assigning them to the protection, assistance of and recording of the testing of the new and specialized prototype. (("Best of luck and I hope Penny enjoys."))

"Salutations Eddie!" Penny said waving at Eyebot Duraframe Subject E or ED-E hovering in midair as it slowed its approach... but she agreed. Eddie, was a cuter name. "Good morning to you!"

ED-E started playing "Good Morning" from the old movie Damcing in the Rain.

Penny giggled appreciating the little robots humor and joie de vivre as it happily zipped and bobbed around her. She spread her arms and started dancing with the little robot.

Walt smiled watching the two interact as he stepped outside. Penny had a way of brightening everyone's lives. If there was someone who couldn't manage to get along with her, he didn't want to know them.

He waited for them to finish, while recording the precious memory, before softly clapping. "Very nice you two. I hate to break it up but let's not wake the whole ranch up just yet."

ED-E chirped an affirmative as Penny gave a salute. "Understood but that's technically impossible. Demona and Serana are awake!"

Walt chuckled. "Well excluding our nocturnal friends then! Sun up is still aways a way. Now come try these on," he said holding out gauntlets and boots along with a scouter.

Penny smiled and clapped excitedly at the accouterments colored in her favorite color schemes as she sat to take off her shoes. "For me? How wonderful but what are they for... wait." She tilted her head scrutinizing them then grinned. "Are these Iron Man inspired technology like your suit?"

Walt grinned too and nodded as he ran a preflight suit diagnostic himself. "That's exactly what they are! I know that you can use your maiden power to fly but as it's still coming back to full strength this should give you more options that function similarly to what you were used to previously. Plus it's more economical and sensible to use these than exhaust your powers flying so I thought- urk!"

Penny had tackle hugged him again after donning her new accessories. The boots and gauntlets were adjusting themselves to fit her perfectly. (("Synchronization complete. Air surfaces OK. METAR VFR CAV OK.")) FRIDAY rattled off a list of information and preflight checks before announcing (("All systems go for take off."))

"Thanks, Friday," he said and Walt saluted and Penny followed suit then smiled as he offered her a fist bump which she happily did, their gauntlets clanking together. "Now let's-" Walt started to say letting Penny go.

"Go!" Penny said excitedly and the repulsors engaged. She took off soaring into the air.

Walt watched as she effortlessly and gracefully started climbing through the air. "... take it easy and go slow," he finished shaking his head remembering how awkward his first flights had been when he'd tried it long ago, and how much that had amused Tony, before eventually getting the hang of it. But he shrugged, smiling and watching as she executed a perfect barrel roll, drones zipping around behind trailing in her wake and recording data. "Well she's hardly a beginner to self propelled flight. Boss, taking off," he announced.

"Confirmed, "Big Bad Boss" This is flight control," 3S radioed in. "We read you loud and clear. You are go for launch and we're already tracking you and "Cinnamon Roll". Good luck."

Walt rolled his eyes but smiled at their callsigns. At least they weren't terribly vicious like some could be. Infact Penny's was rather fitting and obvious. He launched into the sky following after her. "So far, so good it seems... let's have a little fun!"

Penny laughed as she flew high. Flying with the power of the maidens was fine and good. Wonderful even... but this was flying like she used to do! And it felt new and different in her meat person body. The force of gravity and wind and the crispness of the air against the skin as she climbed high into the air, faster and faster. She burst through a thin light wisp of cloud and happily feeling the cool damp droplets cling to her skin. She had always enjoyed flying... but as a living being it was so much more so!

Through her scouter Friday showed her Walter climbing and gaining on her position. Then he curiously reversed direction from her but still climbing. She grinned as he started to turn executing an Immelman turn maneuver... and she countered, rushing to meet him doing the counter Split S into an inverted roll.

Walt grinned as they both pulled up soaring together and "caught", embraced each other in mid-air. Penny was laughing happily obviously enjoying herself and it was infectious. Laughing together they both slowed down and spun and turned in the moon and starlight like a little dance and then, just as the sun peaked over the distant horizon washing the world below and the sky above in colorful light, Walt told her, "I love you, Penny."

Penny felt her heart speed up that had nothing to do with flying, just as it always did when he said those magic words to her, just as she could feel his racing in her arms. It was magical everytime. "I love you, Walt."

They kissed and Walt again felt that ticklish wisp of the Maiden powers only stronger. But it wasn't just that. The whole moment was magical and special, just like every kiss and every moment with Penny was. Infact he could swear he could hear... music?

ED-E was playing Taichovsky's Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet as he happily bobbed in the air. The drones had caught up and surrounded them as they, Friday and a goodly portion of 3S recorded (and a few fans made personal copies of) and watched on.

"We can stop," Penny said seeing him blushing a bit but Walt was smiling just as much as she was. "If it makes you uncomfortable?"

Walt shook his head slightly dismissively. "Frankly my dear? I don't give a damn. Let them watch if they want to," he said and kissed her again. "I love you." And again. "I love you!" And again.

"Ah! I love you!" Penny replied breathily. She did. She loved him. She loved this feeling. Nothing made her feel quite as wonderfully alive as this feeling did everytime! But- "Oh! Walter..." he paused as she put a finger to his lips. "We have testing to conclude... after?"

"After!" He quickly agreed and kissed her fingertip too. "Anything you want my love!" And he meant it. He'd do... "Anything for you!"

And that just made her smile even more. "Anything? How marvelous! Because I have an idea!" And she whispered in his ear. "I want this! I want this for all our friends! I want you to give as many of them as possible dates and this feeling this week! I want you and them to be as happy as we are right now! That's what I want for everyone!"

Walt smiled. That was the beautiful thing about Penny. She was a very giving person who cared about and for others more than herself. She had a very generous heart. "Well that's a tall order. Hmm... As you wish... but I intend to start with you!"

Penny squeezed him tightly. "Then let's hurry and finish up this test-!"

"You okay?" Walt asked suddenly concerned as she looked a little green.

Penny nodded. "Just... I got a tiny bit dizzy and nauseous for a moment from the aerial acrobatics." She blushed and smiled sheepishly. "Having a meat-person body still takes a little getting used to! I am perfectly fine now!"

Walt chuckled and held her close. "You're sure?" He asked and seeing her nod he did too. "Alright well we will take it nice and easy anyway. This is just a simple test flight. No need for acrobatics and complex maneuvering. It was probably nothing but If you feel ill again you are to report it immediately. Understood? Your health is a priority one!"

"Affirmative!" Penny said happily. "Priority one is *our* health!"

Walt chuckled but nodded in agreement with her ammendment. "Our health. Okay let's continue. Of you're feeling up to it first I want you to fly in a clockwise ascending pattern around me and then a counterclockwise decent, slowly. and then the opposite reporting anything unusual like if the controls feel sluggish or if you feel any discomfort. Then we'll proceed to testing next thing which will be ising your maiden powers for flight through the thrusters which if I've figured it correctly should be possible. Then..."
