The Forever Knights Arrive to Investigate the Crater

Gwen hears the noise of a group of people approaching the pod as she snaps back to reality and realize her situation and she worries that someone will find out what has happened. Thinking quickly she climbs out of the crater grabbing her back pack she run to the nearest tree and her gymnastics training becomes useful as she climbs up into the branches and out of sight just in time as the noises get closer. Gwen can hardly believe her eyes as from the woods marches a squad of what looks like medieval knights.

"What? There's no ren fair in town. Who are they?" Gwen thinks to herself as she gets a closer look. The knights' armor are not antiques but instead look state of the art and technologically enhanced as they are wielding strange blasters that vaguely resemble lances. They carried with them some crates that they set down near the crater and remove equipment from.

"It looks like research equipment. They couldn't have just been nearby, were they sent here to investigate?" More questions pile up in her mind but they feel hostile and Gwen isn't exactly in the mood to be kidnapped tonight. Unfortunately she trapped herself in the tree, unable to climb down without being seen or silent enough to jump to another tree. For now she must observe and wait for an opportunity to escape.

Gwen listens in to figure out what is happening. The knights are furious they are not the first to arrive at the pod as they see the empty vessel along with the footprints in the soil, one alien and one human. And to her dismay the troops are ordered to search the area and one knight heads in her direction.

"Oh no, if he searches here he'll most likely find me. But maybe if I distract him I could knock him out and make a break for it." Gwen thinks as she begins devising a plan with the camping gear in her backpack.
