Chapter 13 by frogogre1 frogogre1

So does any one interfere?

Yes a team up to stop him

Batman had been scouring the city for any leads for what exactly the dinner incident really was, as well as keeping the different mobs in check that wanted to spill blood over it. Not being able to find physical proof and wanting to verify if the man who had called himself the Condiment Wizard had a strange telepathic ability or access to a very specific form of magic, he went to Zatanna, who had come to Gotham to perform a few weeks after the incident.

He had just met with Zatanna backstage after her sold-out show to discuss what happened and had brought along some of the mustard and ketchup from the restaurant incident that he had gotten from the police evidence locker. She, happy and eager to help him, immediately began to perform a ritual that would test if there were any traces of magic in the conditions. The test came positive, which left Batman with either two options for what was going on: either A it had just been a quack wizard out of control or B the incident at the diner was part of a larger wizard's cabal.

As Batman was thinking about both options and what little evidence he had would support which theory, Zatanna suddenly let out a surprised shriek. This got Batman's attention, and he was quickly informed by Zatanna that the same magic in the Condiment was active at Arkum but on a much larger scale. So with this new information, both he and Zatanna got into the Bat jet and made their way to Arkum Asylum.

When they got above the island, they could immediately see the clouds of red and yellow coming from an old stone watch tower. Those same clouds prevented the two from coming in from above, and so Batman landed the bat jet a short distance away and made the two begin to make their way on foot.

"We're going to have to be quiet, as we don't know who here could be involved in this." Batman told Zatanna just as they got out of the bat jet; she nodded in understanding, and the two made their way over stealthy to the tower with a combination of Batman's skill and Zatanna's magic. Any guard the two came across was quickly rendered **** as Batman didn't trust them since none of them were reacting to the strange clouds coming from the tower.

Once the two made it to the tower and watched the front entrance, which had several women in a combination of red hair and blue skin wearing a far cheaper version of Mr. Freeze's suit. "Well, I think it's time for a performance instead of a silent movie." Zatanna said, and for emphasis, she pointed to the clouds, which were slowly starting to form into something they couldn't quite make out yet.

Batman gave her a hard stare and a moment's turn to look at the strange magic clouds, then turned back to Zatanna and proceeded to nod. The two then made their way out of cover and towards the guards at the front gate, who, upon seeing them, tried to fire their freeze rays but were stopped and rendered **** by a few well-thrown Batarangs.

After the guards at the tower entrance fell, the rest soon began to follow as the two heroes made their way up. Nora's henchmen prove themselves no match for Batman's skill, not Zatanna's magic. After about an hour and a half, the two were at the top of the tower, having spent more time going up the stairs as Nora had shut off the elevator.

The two heroes, upon walking out of the stairs to the top of the tower, found the Condiment wizard deeply focused on the cauldrons as he filled them with his magic Ketchup and magic Mustard. The two heroes quickly realized that once the two cauldrons were done being filled, their contents would be turned into clouds, and then they proceeded to repeat until he had enough for whatever he was trying to do.

"That's enough, Condiment Wizard! It's over for you; don't make this any harder than it has to be!" Batman shouted at Condiment Wizard from across the roof, though Condiment Wizard was too focused to answer, but before Batman or Zatanna could get closer to get his attention, Nora made her move, appearing from behind the staircase entrance and firing at the both of them.

"No Batman. I don't think it's over for my savior, but it is for you." Nora said in a deadly cold tone of voice as Zatanna was frozen while Batman dodged out of the way in time. The two then stared at each other a second before their duel started as Batman dodged and weaved from Nora's blast as she sent Ray after Ray of freezing power towards Batman, her beams being far more powerful than her henchmen.

Suddenly, even with her strengthened beams, she didn't have the skill to deal with Batman, so in one final display of skill, the Batman performed a series of flip-flops that got him close to Nora and quickly brought her down despite the armor she wore. With Nora down, Batman went over to Zatanna and used a device to get her out of her icy prison.

Once out, Zatanna spoke in a startering voice from being frozen. "Took you long enough, bats." Zatanna said she was shaking from the cold before they both turned to deal with the Condiment wizard. Sadily for them, Nora firing her freeze rays so many times had gotten his attention, and he had formed the clouds into two fists, one made of yellow clouds and the other made out of red clouds.

"Well, heroes, you have come to deal with the mighty wizard; let us see if you are up to the task!" Condiment Wizard said in his best attempt at sounding both arrogant and sophisticated. The two heroes Batman and Zatanna looked to each other and smiled before they began their fight with Condiment Wizard.

So who wins the battle?
