In a limo

He expected a lot of things–an expensive car, a luxury ride maybe, but a limo? Long and glossy, black and expensive, and looking as though it was readied for a millionaire, not regular Old Joe Aaron Reigner.

'I suppose I can check off riding a limo in my bucket list.'

The door opened automatically as he came close. Iman was inside wearing a glittery silver sheath dress, flattering on her slim figure but not overtly risqué either. Her hair was done up in a topknot with strands of black hanging over her forehead. Iman looked fantastic and alluring. Aaron had to double-check that it was her.

"Are you waiting for something?" Iman asked politely. From the tone of her voice, she didn't seem to realize how different she looked.

"I didn't expect a limo," Aaron admitted as he got in. It was lengthy and decorated exactly how a millionaire would do it. A mini bar to the right, comfy seats to the left, large windows looking out the streets, a small television where some of the windows should be. The walls were white as were the tables and seats and blue highlights went throughout. A futuristic theme, put simply.

Aaron decided to sit next to his date, across the mini bar. The array of seats went way, way back, giving them ample space.

"It's a little excessive, don't you think?" Aaron questioned. The seats were made from a kind of leather and were unfathomably soft.

"We do have others to pick up," Iman pointed out.

"Oh, I see. You should have told me that in advance. I thought this whole thing was for me."

She clamped a chuckle. Perhaps it was the atmosphere but Iman was a little loose. "We aren't going to the gala, Aaron."

"So you would rent a limo if we were at the gala?"

"Sure," Iman conceded jokingly.

One-by-one, they picked up Iman's friends, who were technically Aaron's bosses. Directors and supervisors of their building, middle-aged men and women. They laughed and drank and had fun before they arrived. Besides a quaint introduction, Aaron was silent. Iman was adept at conversing with them but Aaron could tell it was a headache.

Furthermore, many of the men were executives and managers. Individuals whose names were written on the walls of the building. He knew better than to taint their night with his ordinary presence.
