Mary Jane heads back to her cabin

Mary Jane slipped out of the cabin and hurried back to her own, hoping to avoid being seen. Her heart was racing as she thought about what had transpired with Craig. Part of her felt guilty for betraying Peter, but another part was exhilarated by the illicit affair.

As she neared her cabin, she saw Nick Katzenburg stepping out onto the porch, lighting a cigar. Mary Jane froze, unsure whether to keep going or turn back. Nick spotted her and a slow smile spread across his face.

"Well, well. Looks like someone had an eventful night," he said, eyeing her disheveled appearance.

Mary Jane flushed, stammering, "I-I just went for an early morning walk."

Nick chuckled. "Sure you did, sweetheart. Your secret's safe with me." He winked and headed back inside.

Mortified, Mary Jane hurried into the cabin. Peter was still asleep in bed. She quickly showered and changed, her mind racing. What had she gotten herself into? And why did Nick's knowing look send a thrill through her?

As she dried her hair, Mary Jane resolved to end things with Craig. It was too risky, too complicated. But even as she made that decision, she knew a part of her was already craving his touch again...
