Odd synchronicity - stand alone parallel story line

Rick and Pete had been buds through thick and thin. Individually they knew it had been a tough year for each other with work, kids, and keeping their respective relationships together.

They both thought simultaneously at the exact singular moment, 'I hope Rick/Pete has the best vacation ever.'

Time froze briefly as if the universe was waiting for the synchronicity of life long friends. Rick and Pete's ears popped as if descending from high altitude. An overwhelming feeling of optimism and weirdly, invincibility washed over the friends. Time started back up unbeknownst to either of them that anything out of the ordinary occurred. Little did they know, their vacation would indeed be the best vacation ever, as the universe was obligated to request.
